Responsibilities

 Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that
! A9 i8 U+ p& R3 g# vincrease their capacity to participate fully in the community
4 a2 |2 h5 j1 M/ r' J4 t/ X* x Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders.
/ @. N9 z9 A R3 B& G" M D Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation
/ v% D6 n( z1 P# Z Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals
9 ]: I0 a# ~, |4 K Facilitate group processes and workshops . ~# m) e6 e1 x2 G* N4 O& ]- T
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community% m! f8 o/ ?0 Q* D1 j. t

Background & Qualifications:

 Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives
$ @) w9 M7 J. S6 d Community development and CED background and experience
6 x2 y2 \ H. ?. p/ c! _8 k Strong group facilitation skills
0 i, P' j) u% N5 ?5 K" Y5 N! H Experience supervising staff1 z* e5 Z7 P# v1 V+ `8 {
 Understanding of cross-cultural issues3 p3 V. d( d( {& V; ~' d& W
 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills
5 T2 _ h+ i H& Y8 D Strong organizational and Program delivery skills

 Post-secondary education
6 }! G, C1 h) M1 e# @" x& u" o- h( S Experience/facility with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Windows 95/98/2000, MS Office, MS Word, databases, spreadsheets etc.)

9 }5 |3 Z! D' d% j6 z8 lSalary range starts at $34,195.
