4 F7 z/ q$ c4 O- _  e  ] Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
1 h; Z3 S+ u: W" Q8 p( D Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
* P8 U* X( @- e5 h' k Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
: a, I4 V2 A4 p Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
- ^4 w, i/ e9 j# E/ X4 W Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
5 K# Q2 B2 U; l5 L* x, C Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
4 m4 a* [% J% G/ k* F Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
9 b- p; K9 u  E" c Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
