Responsibilities
  q5 i- P( h3 |0 P& X7 T Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
9 C: H0 h3 L: @6 E; Z Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
4 K) ~7 f1 |7 ?. y Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
1 W; j2 i* J& U4 r& l Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
/ ~9 L; }5 Z* Q3 _  T3 u- d Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
; K7 d5 I. ?- `* ?/ n Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
4 Y1 t+ X' o/ A1 |4 R4 l6 t6 a Current RSW designation preferred   
. j( E% I- G3 e  } Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
/ m- \3 I; _& g2 i Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
. r3 Z+ q3 L; |0 w$ X; E Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
