 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
0 y5 w6 ^$ D0 i' x# b Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
7 U) d" N5 q: b0 Q# }- A- F- y Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
9 s9 z3 I; U6 N6 Y% G$ ` Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
7 {  l2 I3 h6 D: P0 Q4 C Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
3 r5 T* L" W+ c1 r' d3 h: m* k0 T Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
; B0 y1 f/ P, ]- d; O Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
1 E- `& H/ ]# |  V2 l/ ?% e Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
, ?3 J) ~. {7 w3 z7 B% f Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
: \) e7 r* C. K# ]9 Y Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
4 F" J% Y1 T6 ?( k) v& l; e Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
