Responsibilities
/ J1 _! t  E7 a" G Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
% F; I  p) K  i8 R6 K Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
) `6 f+ F& \" W& ]7 Y+ ]; G6 [ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

4 I  W" G1 r$ aQualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
; E$ B* {; x6 }. Y& y) n Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
; ~. W3 }1 p- b0 i  A Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
  A# |' }) ~- G7 I4 l Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
5 a$ p2 l0 D" h: v( m+ E Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
# J6 C: {/ S3 R" f. s Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
