Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
" w0 X* h1 C  b% IObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
+ |( ]7 }  `0 s; m% nEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
7 C$ |$ C3 a0 aPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions
4 _, T' X3 `. _' UPerforms related duties as required
Qualifications
Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
High School diploma; previous driving experience required
  B5 r  V6 s8 E5 f. B& x% U6 ZCurrent certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
