Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: D7 ~  x4 Z' J Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
+ i  z) J* z9 d+ [$ i Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 U: }. q) c0 L$ _, d% k Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( ~' I" ?4 E( g) l% I: p/ m0 o, u Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
+ P6 \6 G1 R' E8 L/ |$ S8 W Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
! l, W2 f3 g  n0 M* |9 j3 g Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

3 f& s. r3 |& ^$ n/ o2 s5 P! R2 H Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
4 ?4 {3 {0 ]4 A2 {" e0 [ Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% [" X  y7 z9 a Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
; o) i0 }9 q7 h" f7 }; [$ g Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
