Key Responsibilities & Duties:
+ W: n& ?$ [, d: U
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ |% @& X  _6 C( s* r8 ~: }" o Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( }: X* x# i0 y$ K8 Q9 m Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
" g9 C) p7 W1 b6 [  {" t- F' F2 x Completing required paperwork.
) g7 w% ?6 ]  q7 v. m. Z! s Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
* `8 ]0 O% m3 H7 ^ Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
. @; I% r1 b8 @/ U, L% [ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
3 n$ r: x5 w2 o! x8 @8 f Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
3 \- v2 }7 c' V Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
  B3 W/ o7 L! \ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
. M: x6 O5 F5 v4 l3 J# d& M Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
7 i7 s: K$ j7 `( U( k Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ J0 ?4 E8 d5 i% b4 ? Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
9 [% ^9 l/ d, g# q+ [9 { Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
3 m5 M+ W' K9 S Knowledge of community resources.
% X! ?' k8 {/ _" U, U$ l Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
  |  L! O; c+ \3 g. @ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

0 Q: ^" k* k) F. y4 Z# y* G; p7 iPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
( @0 u4 M8 s; K- b$ ^- U# y9 T- vstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
