The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.$ f, v* Z7 L7 M: r

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.2 H# o- F# F1 a9 W! W0 Q6 y

/ K8 Q% d: { `8 T4 F$ t- H* UOPERATIONS
! u. ^! F! S9 @8 g2 b• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
I! r) P4 M5 M2 [1 N, u• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
8 @! a$ O. o, S5 U7 m$ Q2 R3 Q• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge* X! X5 V2 r5 U
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.( ]7 H+ x, {* N! d
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
/ t5 n: U8 i# U$ K! G• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.- b7 \* ]- V$ @- z9 F& \8 ~
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
# {" Q. }# T9 s• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities& p4 B8 Q& [3 b8 R+ }
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required- m8 S! t4 P' l

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, E, u4 j2 z9 d* r• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up: }" a9 c. I0 S# U$ K

& }8 b. R" v5 e• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position1 Y5 \; D! Y2 S6 s) l% W5 i
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
* w& y) {- A: @0 {• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
6 Z1 V" c" Z# V% B• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
% z3 ^' j% G0 }2 I• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
/ B( W* Q. ^1 y$ {. M• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required# y% B$ U; U. @( @3 l/ G9 Z

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
# Z8 \8 v# ]5 z l7 ^• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers+ {0 L! J8 T7 Z8 J8 |# S' c2 O# T* |
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
# y+ L) L7 |1 H9 z( `# B2 F; A• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ! x! G. U2 x" @5 T! ~
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

! O( s; T% p q2 s' r" n6 u
9 i u8 {* w+ c+ p( n) X• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination+ b, t" R& g/ y
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
& j `$ G5 Z5 R* i5 a/ h3 j• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills9 i, R: D" D' c( N# O8 P
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 5 K1 J" ?! h% A7 u" q
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
, G) N+ x) b) m# u s1 f• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
