The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
* X Y/ s/ C0 C* m6 i• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.* P, Y2 @- c* r$ L* \
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
, X2 X; K- G2 V• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
! B: v7 p+ D7 c$ y* W) X• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
- O$ | W1 ~: }* W* e• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
2 R4 l/ I) N7 e0 g9 |4 ?. J• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.) M2 S% `- u( b# J9 }5 n7 a o
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
; x- m; ]. y( |% `• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
8 m# o! A% r& v+ Z3 y• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required V2 Q8 e9 c! R

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
. b6 m* Z' k7 P0 {" m M/ Y* @4 ~2 H• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
' y9 O7 M, H+ V0 i0 y* O" R- X' k9 o, ?• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

1 o5 @. r" r4 J• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position% C; }- g. k% a. y6 q: s+ E6 ~3 S# x
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation& U# r+ \, j1 K' A9 h4 T
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
9 J9 `, P- i6 I; j2 ~2 `# g• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
" Y: ?$ j* _9 C& m. N" x' l. W' C• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 6 w; ~$ m5 u* h% j
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
/ S5 B9 u( }/ ]% U: d O1 I• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
% G! w1 ~; D: R w. T( S3 y• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
# [5 B/ o9 ?% L: N/ }8 ^0 D7 L• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
K/ m0 ?+ m9 ]. f• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)5 v4 T& |. d2 V# q1 E$ e
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

" D2 i+ |4 q! L, [( D• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
/ ]: p2 W, l9 K p# I3 P7 }2 q$ f7 U# h• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability) |- \8 M2 A _) j' _
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% d4 P2 Y8 W. d* h3 D7 @• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
