The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.( {2 i4 S5 I- f# b

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.; `7 t6 u1 e& u4 a4 u1 j
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
# l4 p/ U" H) s8 r- i• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge! \( o% {6 Q4 f }6 e. P. p6 [
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
3 O3 l& \7 A9 s& r. |% e• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
; u: d* g$ C6 U& E9 I6 j, h, w• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.1 y. [8 U7 [( Y3 D
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.; y& h8 r0 X. x! G$ x& K
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
7 Q- H+ N0 d7 G3 `• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required A8 d1 L( P: _5 @2 A, {9 P

7 J3 U! `8 x8 G: O& Z• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO) D0 [1 z. b, E7 I
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
- C4 S b% d5 A* h: Z• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
' O. y; o! `" o4 B• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation' `; L+ D3 x% e- G, j
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate, D/ A G5 n B( M
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& }3 T: G# q) x. ]
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
% [9 b1 k2 [, X$ J* ?" f+ W• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency# M+ S6 e" p6 F2 `4 U( Y- J4 r
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report. Z* {1 Y/ g/ E5 j/ x" E6 e* o

FINANCE
; q+ e: a2 Q8 u* E& O• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances! S8 g$ p! b* x
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

* ?7 c6 t/ \0 o/ k8 PINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
; B0 q; M$ e1 N! t7 s• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
7 \1 m' g2 x$ z* l5 n! l+ ^# r. H: `4 z( d• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
! |9 L' K. o) ?% j" X: N; i k: s• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate % m6 ^. d' |7 `8 ~: H. g$ _
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. F- n+ m6 |& L& j
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
) Y2 ]3 t) r: o% X- _/ Q# H" e• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
3 ~' X" Q8 ?6 V! v• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
+ N# m. r9 b2 n• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure0 b; h& S; O# U* e5 _3 r
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 9 L- [) h7 A/ [ c9 J' t# w
