* M  X; ~/ l4 y" n6 g& T. z$ ^Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
% Q# D+ f: Q# m% u Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
7 y- ?  j! w- [ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ I1 N' l7 a& i0 \" C9 V. N1 k$ b Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
1 e3 o' S3 k+ v0 V Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ r  P1 p/ p8 q2 K1 \) f Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% W6 B% p1 A1 o# B  ?5 z1 D# y Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
9 W& r) b5 \) l5 P/ [* t Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ l7 ~" s6 c8 ~; |" rstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
