Key Responsibilities & Duties:

5 N$ C# n" m+ b& m Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: k2 u5 k, r9 w4 y Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
, E1 X2 g* ^9 W$ V' l5 y Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' x% L( x# X& R# s6 J* } Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 \, f, c( j7 G, Q) H Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
& H" U6 A& h0 Y. l) i Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

, x, `4 o4 c; X$ i+ q( V Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
/ S7 ]+ p- M" E/ [$ T Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 N! a7 M  F" @: }# r, }2 U; f Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 P$ J2 J! p4 s% q( l Knowledge of community resources.
; o& ^0 [3 W  o9 K/ i7 [) k Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
/ M: I  J& [0 _' f4 | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

2 {4 I! G! M& b  hPosition:
! p; A: w) O$ {9 M1 g8 pThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
