5 O/ l2 h# o! ~- C/ [9 m150. The great ship, Titanic, sailed for New York from Southampton on April 10th, 1912.

151. She was carrying 1,316 passengers and a crew of 891.- N* R3 K1 B1 h7 Z" M

152. Even by modern standards, the 46,000 ton Titanic was a colossal ship.! V. Y) k5 F' Z) t  e

165. The order to abandon ship was given and hundreds of people plunged into the icy water.: O- W7 `- j# B$ ?/ ?" x* P

166. As there were not enough lifeboats for everybody, 1,500 lives were lost." D! G3 x& s* r8 F% e# W  o
