As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

& T7 p# g& }$ o! fDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
7 B6 W$ J2 p# m$ T5 p! s; S# l. _Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

9 z' A& b% l9 q$ ?• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
) u2 P. S' d5 N6 j3 _7 V• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
# ^4 l  O$ @+ n# T9 `+ R: C1 q• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
  ~8 @% b. m8 p• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
5 v8 @! M+ h* v5 v; e' F; n9 F• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
5 s# u2 d# Y# }' w- F% s+ M2 B• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
& k7 q6 s; A7 e+ C' N) c• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
5 E, e8 w! F6 T% U0 K• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
; R* F; x! t, q( C% I• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
