FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

! y- M: ]" S3 Z! bDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
! F4 w0 F0 Z8 o" PEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
& a1 ]( o. R" n3 u9 D) N• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

3 B5 L7 _4 k- V0 s& }SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
5 y# V0 I- d7 c• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
1 L, c* X% I+ w0 @" e3 i, h• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
1 j2 z8 E2 h% E" P# b5 n6 h• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
  p8 j" p* q) C# e, ~2 ^- ^: E8 r• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
$ I% {  `4 S# ?, ?' |• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
$ o- P$ c0 P  d• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
6 @  I; M9 M) `- |9 V- H• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
