As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

6 ^* `: M) O; d. mDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
) k3 G: E: G% b$ R7 ^Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
/ o) Q1 O# f: dBi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
2 t6 t' w  ^' @4 x. Z• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
9 ]2 o9 o# P7 y; z' P. I' {, u• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
9 w% O9 H; Y: T# o. R• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
% \5 `$ v* c1 M3 h& S• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
& t# q/ k9 D, r: A/ Q• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

2 Q6 r( g" _$ ESKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
' P$ ^# Y% ]" c0 w6 h" Z& O. \% |• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
6 s" x# T% T0 |, R- a: Z5 F• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
& a2 ]0 ?9 {& R3 f: I; g; W+ D0 C• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
0 d! h! Z1 w; v6 {; W9 H• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
8 \% h. l' C6 R• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
