FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

Enterprise Data
: e: a  W  u% f' ~% M* U2 G• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
9 @3 h. g$ _- m( T) p0 q• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
8 j6 y9 X; }, f& z0 K• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
# y- V% r$ f! j• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments

• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

/ r. N0 K& o% cSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
3 Q' O9 S: M. U7 |• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
5 S% @7 ^1 W2 R. D• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
' o- A, w( c8 I) \, z* |+ E+ {# @• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
+ L; o6 s7 L' f# P/ E& _• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
: ~6 b9 C+ J& w  i' P" V• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
