community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to 5 l: h; X# @6 t0 [- }) y1 q: [
provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

# i7 ^, v% z) ~. M/ c Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
& k& G8 F9 _' X, l3 }The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff, ( ^7 y! C: y% R, P9 ~% z7 ?- ~" O
newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
; c& s8 w2 ^0 [, P. KWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as : V6 K2 z1 b' U& G6 l% A- x+ \
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for $ J% |7 a' x3 B7 l0 f( h$ Y7 I
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial 9 t) x9 K; P) ~! Q
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-' |5 ^ D, f# O8 o9 ~
centered delivery model.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Qualification
8 I: T/ Y( o1 v! T6 H' a" ~4 [ V$ U
0 D, O, ], }7 r. [& a) j Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and : G6 B* k1 J7 J) t Z5 n
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
0 J) j2 u+ A/ G6 X3 z$ x) e. ]! ] Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family 4 X; N7 P+ i+ ?" ~9 `/ c V( \
support needs ; y, E) E) [2 ?' X5 x5 e
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications , p ~- M8 a! }7 Z8 Y: d$ X) b
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
$ a: L9 m1 G$ ?! A/ r% i Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate + F M& A- Z% u! X1 t2 g6 V/ e2 }
