8 `* a+ x8 K7 W, J2 M3 H" EThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
1 w6 C8 L1 J3 d0 Qnewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
% ?! c& h2 H- ]/ E4 GWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as . \, W0 H; E# K+ m( N' c7 q+ r
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
$ v' ^* p b; a4 u3 I# P; mnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
. C. r5 {+ V* A- Q1 ] dassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-' |* U3 \* `9 u, v) K% ~
centered delivery model.

within the city of Edmonton and New Canadian Health Network partners.

Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families. * j6 r! }; w4 }* t1 |( D7 o) `5 X4 x
Provide intake, needs assessment, referral, case plans and action plans to support ( y8 m" t7 a* [8 `! R) M' n8 D% M5 B; @
newcomers in settling and fully participating in community.

Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers. 3 j8 w: H% A9 o- ?6 P
Treat all clients with dignity and patience in order to listen deeply and give thoughtful

Qualification
5 Z* ~, h( ~# H9 p5 L % h1 ]. A$ h1 l) K% Y; _: {' T
Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and * z+ q8 N& ?- A8 @& w" J, Q! r$ V
experience in Social Work or related human service fields. ; n6 `" L( |. F. H) p
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family $ V& [$ _7 b) a* T- {3 a; N
support needs - ?+ O; t# j) `; u1 n$ b
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications - _! K' K" k# _
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages 8 |& R2 G d6 Y8 b3 x9 |$ S$ [
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate ! \5 o, E% _" P
insurance coverage for work

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field ! |1 ~6 I. |* Q9 p2 o% j* {
