Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 0 C0 Q5 I* w# N7 G T& U1 ]
execution of the YWCA Strategy 7 N. A' g3 n' M. o5 A5 _1 A

Specific responsibilities include: 8 _& i% ~# Q# N& K
$ o: z: N( t4 Q0 p8 V$ J• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
& _: D" T" W7 B1 P5 e4 H& _5 dthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
, |+ W6 U( [- r4 }3 y! |& i* D- bthe Board of Directors;
0 E% X" z& n4 o. M• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations " T5 S$ F# y% h
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to " k$ t4 y- C8 K; l
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
9 ]5 m; C8 j- V) g• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
# }% D% w9 b% H$ w7 Nobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 Z# }1 d( Z: U• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& |7 ?8 B* Y% V8 S! Sthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; + X! \: J9 |- `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
3 u$ N6 k+ n! n6 _3 h0 ichanging needs of the organization and community;
, J+ H/ L) k: r4 H# ]• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
% P; c N$ c4 g! Gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
; n v M/ G7 f, W3 S8 q3 W% c$ K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
! S: e- L$ g" y# ~ I& Q) H6 _. j• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
" x( n l& g) e' W" t+ y9 v, u- mthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 Q1 V h! g8 G7 w• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal $ Y' u6 n. T: S: u8 x& r
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
9 f+ c& l: q9 Q0 x$ _6 cthe forthcoming year;
' f$ @# }3 D. F$ l# [# h/ y0 G• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
. u& j6 v) P5 a1 b# V+ \practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
3 S& z6 w; f7 s9 j3 z- c1 X• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
% p% Y& j9 u3 z1 K$ e6 o! P• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ k) M3 o& S8 H0 p0 |; i# v3 a- rabilities;
9 o" W( ~" u s7 K& Z9 o• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
$ d( j, J; v. q2 iNetworking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
