Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: ; l* W+ o0 W4 i+ L# E+ I* i

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
, I' D" e& ?5 n6 [& W9 _+ vthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by q: i# N9 ~5 N4 }: b. j V
the Board of Directors; 0 L% r b- L4 n i8 T- }: L! ]
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
6 w4 o. T& ?% uincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 t5 g4 ^& v5 W; a- W
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ; M+ |) ^$ D- r: g) r! g9 B$ G# W
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and # q$ z; X2 u' l4 j& p
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
& p9 q. x8 F( a% k* S, d @% Wthe board;
2 K! ?# W% C) e: A• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
6 ^( @, L F W+ X/ g* y• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
) ]7 h2 u5 \# Q/ x. |1 }the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 7 y2 u# f$ [8 Y. m& n( q t
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
/ v0 H" T# J. Z2 V' s; rchanging needs of the organization and community; 1 [$ U5 b8 i7 T2 q
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 5 U& V7 x9 X! F* M' ]7 x
commitments; ; X0 p9 P: J7 B0 _6 S+ H- N2 f
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ) v& C% I8 I. p" K+ y! @+ U1 N& B
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
9 n4 M0 q' a, B- `4 j; B; Gselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
1 J) R: i+ V g$ ]. G; E• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 9 q5 B% E b) E V2 c; E
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
# g: F& i |: Y9 weffectively and positively represent the association;

9 c0 k; H& ~; l; r7 ~. w• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' P% E- b- `( p. A( A+ B5 M2 @performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
7 K7 S4 J; D1 y6 J _; ?- vthe forthcoming year;
4 i. a, c! ~, j" f• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
8 w; e9 l! m+ b" O* n9 S' C" \practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; + n/ d Y/ l/ ~0 S$ c* |3 C
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 6 b7 {8 E9 Y0 @+ u9 z, q( V; a9 F
Networking and Fundraising;
