Specific responsibilities include: ) K$ I" X$ M; j U
+ k; a9 N% ?0 ?& T. r• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
( j+ D1 c8 X; p/ J/ Q! k% xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
- X9 J! Q9 f3 P9 jthe Board of Directors;
$ u3 N9 d' e. n5 z5 s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; `9 N6 ?& i, ]! F( G# \2 E* _) ?including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 |$ Z2 I! ~/ z* O2 G- W
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
& L8 b" r6 o0 U. ]7 U; b• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 u+ ~; W0 q! v, B! s& K* x: T
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " d2 M) [) Y+ @# i2 q+ H/ H. a
the board;

the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / T+ B+ N0 b; B" i
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
' r9 o% `- M c2 `changing needs of the organization and community; ; _+ v/ f% {- R: X' s
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ^( u- U% ?2 V
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
* n* W) C% G Q8 U; a' Lselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! p7 l3 n4 B4 F8 c/ h" _• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ( S. e' F/ _6 s3 B# X/ v
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
& _* L ^3 u& W, Q. ~1 meffectively and positively represent the association;

# A! t/ j- j7 S" ]. }1 M6 p' x q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: B$ J5 C( M0 G: _, f1 o; @" v9 zthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ `" I9 S$ u" A& o2 G& ]• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
& X& m+ O5 _) ? [& h* kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED . {( l% t6 a1 Q, r. P, w( [
the forthcoming year; 2 h* }( X2 Y5 r+ _$ P
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical $ ^2 A( V Z8 B1 z; V; i. K$ }
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Experience
* Z8 r& f! f0 S5 \- O3 p• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
+ R, f5 e/ I7 D& a% E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
3 P2 s+ a% _! w" N7 a5 }4 ^- tabilities;
% |4 ~ m8 o1 N/ V4 L" w6 v6 r• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, X6 t- @! _/ m8 d3 S! ]
Networking and Fundraising;
! i- Q0 p4 E* x" G2 F• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
