Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and % a2 ?( N) `8 m3 [5 G! z
execution of the YWCA Strategy 5 ?0 E. ~ c4 K, y; ?4 U1 V: n. [

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " X6 x0 `7 L' E# K# ]
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 7 F, X( D% h# F' x* e0 S: r
the Board of Directors;
$ Q- E8 ^4 A) J0 a e, {• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 5 e0 w9 M- b2 k) d( {4 b) y
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
* U- x7 X( w0 f, A+ M' j8 O8 m3 zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; V: [" _% d1 {
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ) s1 {9 s+ i- W6 r. p7 ?6 j$ Q
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by : Z% |$ r! R* y# e( C
the board;
- o9 b# ]6 S2 a- p. ^• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
5 `3 N0 ]1 F$ ~( e• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! B1 Y$ s3 N0 ~
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; / `3 {1 H; |" h4 `" g" I1 F
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( N P# ^# O/ S+ u# u c8 U$ o* }changing needs of the organization and community; # P6 j% v8 @9 c/ u# ]. v* ]% {+ N
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue % N, Y, h( R$ O6 n, d1 r. v
commitments; 1 ?) V* b \9 k! @* v0 \5 d' P7 P
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ z" o3 V! _- |5 B# Y: {( _• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( V! T9 B/ N- h/ j. l8 o7 u q$ }
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 S+ U& {2 z- F; F: m; h9 M• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; . Y, _* v; A8 f
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
1 s. o* V, S( C, W C Yeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
$ Q& @# n" x2 ^8 sthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
/ E* s+ l. T5 I C4 O, X) [1 V, z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 w6 ]( x1 z; K3 P% a% G5 o
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
s( h+ C0 P. [the forthcoming year;
& b2 ^) E$ @+ R! y- n( E, k* d) K• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 J9 v+ A# z6 h: B
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

8 y8 |9 |$ `9 ?# ^, c• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : [# L v X Q0 ]* W) [ S

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, + C7 {- y& A- ^- p; i7 V9 |
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
