Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
' V6 a3 f. C. w% S0 p. q! h After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
( V! {) ~0 j; ~9 e7 PIt is a cycle.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.) c1 @9 J; ^; u
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
8 w5 n) c, R: Z6 _' o, z1 a1 C( nThe problem should be inside the bucket.( g6 F0 k; y/ ?3 K { M, u
e' d" u0 C9 k/ N. y7 fWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.+ q" G) i; o" o( @; c
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
7 Y# `2 K) U8 RConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.8 u5 M+ _9 Y& a, X: C6 y
& T: U K$ k- Y5 v: X+ yThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
3 _- W5 q! \' R% g4 A* MThey have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
, w! q* @. A% Z8 v# j! ~, k k& K% R% ? It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. 6 g" r x, }0 w6 [
. b* h& w" B5 n" h: pThe coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them. , T1 Q* P4 h; T; q# j
