Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
8 c, [4 U; |5 ^/ t! \ After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. 8 q8 t5 w `7 K
It is a cycle.. _ a+ y1 h4 ` p6 R1 P
& t6 r& x1 ]& BWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.; B( y3 F9 R8 ^3 |0 [5 w/ g
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.: _' C1 w/ w9 a. R1 G. m$ ?( U: T0 f
The problem should be inside the bucket.
. B t- M; `9 D, h6 C" n q+ `( }; K1 p6 }: Y. r. v
When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
8 Z& V' _/ y' K1 c; C$ i* h1 xUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
% R' N, F" A2 f( [6 N5 S" y. ZConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.

1 `! @+ u0 `- i8 ]8 t8 v* h- hThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
6 `- }$ w# f" A$ N! i2 EThey have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again./ O* ]& r" z! i
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. 5 U: W' W9 ^! V/ O: c

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them. 5 m# i$ o9 m$ y# _& f
