The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage. x- I" I; q' T6 A
- P" M, p5 l, A7 O+ |0 i% uSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.& Y) @- G& y( G3 }9 m# T I! U

According to Reuters, Suncor could not specify how much crude the unit was producing before the incident.
