Responsibilities
7 s) v; S- ^; m# U# sAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
! R8 K0 Q% e# I6 t# V( ?Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
5 Y, o0 R1 e' ~2 ^+ G9 ?Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
1 p9 J# _1 l& ]Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
  }; v" T1 q- g) K$ iParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
: o, S8 _4 u6 w8 F1 M6 w, hQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.

$ O7 z# {# s3 ^# NAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
$ y8 e+ @5 E! l/ v+ kProficiency in a second language is an asset.
