Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
% [# B' X( T. B; Z# Z7 TMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
! Q1 v6 T6 I8 j" h4 ^0 ^6 o6 m# \Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
7 Z7 r/ M9 t; nParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
0 M7 e- p1 h1 |9 P; r, yMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
6 x$ I5 n. A. S! X, {" G  ]0 aMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
+ l1 C# O$ K8 |0 n( \- I  l2 rAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
! u* {2 v, m: |  t% N3 wProficiency in a second language is an asset.
