Responsibilities:; N, J9 R" k0 M% P
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth: Y* D- {& ?7 A/ p, X5 i2 Q! y! y+ v& M( i
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
+ R& ]; f' n' G$ s7 h- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
2 N! P9 P6 D9 W; g5 a6 Z- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs; y* b) n# p' X, ~
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:' ?/ u4 a F3 ]
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences7 s) T) {' r1 Q
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
7 b% i j6 c, X: l- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
$ l: c' l/ O2 r' m6 x- Experience doing program development! Q/ x! O1 Z6 h
- Strong organizational and coordination skills* Q( ?: N" N+ Z1 e
- Self-directed and able to take initiative" B2 R# f- i& X3 \0 o0 ?3 y
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset0 _$ W& P6 V! K3 M
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation. p- s- A$ g4 E* r
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities" ^; j" P. ^: F4 s8 ^5 h) [
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
