To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
$ [8 o3 B+ k7 X7 C5 H2 o$ x
{. I9 g* e6 ^; C+ Bhave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
: \6 f4 q# n: F; b4 \Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.9 Q6 e9 a2 A' u4 H6 A" M

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
