To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
$ o+ b4 j& q# B! o- R# r6 l# h+ T- L) G1 v- _
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician - }2 J r6 Z) v- M6 T4 i* `. h
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.; U V$ P: X; \* W! v1 Y
2 G/ N: a+ L, f& S8 ]+ o, Y, ?0 w3 O) Jcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office, {/ J2 d* i# L5 ~4 y
( R% v* c# X4 f0 I* r1 fpay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above
' J9 x+ m6 ]! }; D8 I" q/ F1 \This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination.
