A baby food recall is underway as a popular Heinz baby cereal may contain elevated levels of a mycotoxin.. d4 |9 _. Z# p; t. K# x) _5 c
, ]1 Q8 @2 z4 mThe Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Heinz Canada are warning parents about ‘Heinz Mixed Cereal, Stage 2, From 6 Months’. The best before date codes located on the top left hand corner of the package are ‘BB/MA 10 DE 26’ and ‘BB/MA 10 DE 29’.
# m! W% j' _ q- Q! FNo illnesses have been reported from consuming the cereal. Heinz Canada says that the cereal may contain elevated levels of Ochratoxin A (OTA). . q- h8 n+ U& M- d& N/ U2 m

In a news release, CFIA says Ochratoxin A is a mycotoxin produced by fungi that can grow in food such as grains, grapes and coffee beans and has been classified by as a possible human carcinogen.
