Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
* G1 @1 V6 B4 }) [" H -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
- Y1 b7 e' O: |! m1 r$ _-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
! Q: V4 d: G: w: ?' V  A-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
. T3 M" h3 f3 F# Y+ @! }8 M# X1 M-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
* v3 Z! {0 E2 l4 u) j- o' P- N-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
; O; T1 M, |( ]) F - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
) G- p' d/ W. O' ~( V4 m) @( M8 K-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
! o* W5 x9 E$ ?0 i-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
3 g" l+ u1 _: c  N  c/ W-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
( E) w, u4 A3 p" |! j* z-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
