EMCN works with a multi-cultural community to provide support to youth (ages 9 – 27) through mentorship, recreation and education.

- e% V8 h& _9 ~* W6 \. uResponsibilities: build relationships with existing immigrant/refugee youth and their community; provide workshops or work with other agencies to provide workshops on racism, bullying, conflict resolution, leadership, public speaking and others advocate for immigrant youth in the community; creatively plan, organize and evaluate small group activities; support Settlement Practitioners in Schools in their work with families and schools through mentoring, educational sessions and other capacity building activities; learn about EMCN and other programs, services and resources for youth and families for referral.9 H) p, e; z# l J5 F* o* }
) |8 A9 W) d* E* @+ X, jDesired Skills, education/experience: strong commitment to providing quality services working in an intercultural environment; ability to document and complete reports in an accurate manner; facilitation skills required; development and delivery of workshops; ability to prioritize duties ,ability to perform a variety of diverse tasks; proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in languages other than English/French; experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet Usage; extensive evening and weekend work required.

! S6 u& M+ e7 k" l0 v( W9 e/ i+ x+ iEducation/Technical Skills: Post-secondary education, diploma or degree, preferably in Youth Development, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, however work experience will be considered. A clean driving abstract and car is needed for this position.
