This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
* o. |3 E. C: xEligibility Criteria
" R+ d" C) V) {2 c# TAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:- h% v; {* c9 z2 _1 t" Q j% ]
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less1 w/ N/ E# T/ E; R/ |5 b# G- m
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
* ^) Z, z* W( f( c. z2 R3 y•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English: K& |+ e1 v7 r1 [: V; n
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada , o- v" J! N1 b! G+ h) f' i* O* p
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
G- h J) {6 o5 A$ p. Q•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less: \+ A9 v( E# V& n. A& x
•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks% f. o7 ]5 ~! u# W$ j) G

Time Commitment0 o; h9 e/ j4 H# ?4 {
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
