THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

: D: i% w1 M7 h1 ~' ?" g4 p: xThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
: t3 X% {+ Q4 b" H8 |$ \( VEligibility Criteria3 K/ P4 q0 M+ w! E1 ] }$ b
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:6 ^8 f) l& c9 C( Q/ P, o6 h( I
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less k, B9 |* X9 p7 ^" s. m- q/ f
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education4 S5 T( x; j& B4 N/ n* ^
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English# J% f0 ?* }" J
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
! R" a) v* q* N+ h•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
: D6 {/ x; Y7 h& X4 K* r' x•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
4 ]: V( R9 d( f3 _& @; }; |•Be eligible to work in Canada# Z4 @" o, `/ I/ I0 X* p
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop: u, }, b) Y5 M$ t" A' |; v. H( J
•Lack access to professional networks
5 D+ x- V. E+ D+ _•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

- }1 w Q Q! ^3 A3 Y. ~0 bThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
