Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
4 E% J- w4 p* S1 C/ l, P$ xEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events & ~7 {, t' B( h3 x2 A( k
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: * i6 D3 a- t7 E& `7 e$ Z8 m
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ) |* R, h$ q9 ^) o8 Q. d8 s) P
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
4 u, r, G$ Q# M+ S- pwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
, g; U& T! Z/ Q. K) Madvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 8 Z: S5 ~) h+ y/ {
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

- R) Q4 W1 p+ T, a& N' J* |; y" s4 j· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
" U9 W8 o4 y7 _0 `; g( n· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
8 _# m( }# S/ ~% W4 n& g· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 G5 y/ s. G$ Y
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

; L# U/ v A. |4 h. `· Completion of 12th/ X) b6 D% e, d& _
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation $ l% n* d1 K1 X( v7 b, `0 V4 N
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ( Z) G4 |3 }8 u4 J' K9 U
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 4 [8 m5 P% H9 j [
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events & [. r( H1 J$ j4 g' W
· Experience working with and managing volunteers % Y& I Q8 S) T
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
" W/ b c1 g4 o3 o. F· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

· Security Clearance
