Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special $ E% A6 u* H* w/ Q
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 4 u9 F" Y8 [0 g# V. N& l

Duties: Special Events ! `( b7 i: e) M/ _6 `( |- }
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ! W5 {0 N4 U3 D1 L* {; f3 K
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee # Z+ ?1 [4 Q# @- [; P4 J; c/ m
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ; D/ u7 ?% ~2 v$ E# Q. N/ b% g
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
* G% ^$ N5 Z9 s, A' R6 hadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
8 T/ }8 ^1 ^& |% e0 Z s8 ~; Pset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 7 [( D0 C" K. l" o# |8 c$ \2 ^! \6 f) b
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions : C/ v" O9 S0 J6 X( _5 d
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
7 d+ k( A, A3 N- O1 g· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
/ h2 C8 a2 x9 ]# m( D· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 0 S, ^9 I5 I# H( Z' k) K7 w9 {" r$ G
· Complete program administration, statistics and records : Z7 l* K6 K! n: @1 V6 m
Q- x% h( T+ l8 a% I' iQualifications:
+ V8 M6 W' B: O: t. _2 o, A· Completion of 12th8 Q/ ], @ P4 A$ [+ G+ ~1 J
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ; U! C1 Z) y% d T# _0 p6 Z5 q! x
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. % ]8 I6 w/ }. X: `/ h. S# | |
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
+ m5 M& v3 T: Y Wexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events & u" U u$ L k7 s( \$ S- _
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
( B9 m& Z- e1 n# K" @* T4 ]5 J· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
3 b! \8 t. R+ z* [0 [· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events . I) p3 g. a: b% \. v- F
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work ( l% W6 q/ k H ]4 E
