* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory0 k' L8 ?; @# g1 |
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
+ z' D. y8 ^# l7 e- b% ? * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps6 y4 z+ O1 {: n s
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations0 Q) a! a- l) g8 r3 A( T
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred' ]' |- I$ X5 v8 v9 c: E' N) {
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
% F% p5 |9 t4 T- }& E * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers) k8 e+ t2 ?6 q8 \7 x5 g
* WHMIS training
