Duties
% z( h9 H9 B. F9 F+ c
2 V' T- S' H0 g6 F) \# I" Z * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
0 L1 N X2 E9 P& p) A9 @ * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr. m7 m+ D( D7 ?. k ?: A5 x2 e! z
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps& s4 f+ }# k% R8 Y0 R0 D
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations, s. M4 Y3 ?) E2 O( z8 G: C1 _
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations$ w& C& M% R7 p" V4 m
7 S0 |* Z8 \/ l: nQualifications H! T! ^! m# f

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred! o$ d2 r1 |1 z& Y* b+ v. a
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
9 L y1 v5 N, w# G" t2 Y* q * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers5 `0 D: Y _5 q; f" }# c
* WHMIS training. @9 a+ n& k3 ~ q" X; F: b
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset" V, K$ ?' o/ l% ~+ |* [
