* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory9 F+ r7 A6 C) \" _
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
) S$ }, N8 I. f1 I7 ~8 Z * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
0 P: e2 c2 @1 c8 G+ k! F4 A * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations5 \' d: l- Y+ o3 Q3 C& Y
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations! x/ o% c% R+ H: J) ]

Qualifications% |) l& F/ n' ~ ~

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
& T* a- C" ?3 E5 j6 I- s Q * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
[ Y4 |4 e- o) T! ], k! W * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers+ [4 e0 @5 W' r- u
* WHMIS training
6 _2 x W8 Q c; s7 v * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
