! q( S* k2 K; p8 Q, o- M * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
% ?% ~9 z. l5 R C) |; N# k @1 n * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
7 c( }1 K6 H& G * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps: I. [$ G, _4 t" {, ~7 M/ m
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations/ L$ ?, w% ?. g# h# g' t' j
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

4 E) D+ H( E. R5 F+ f- _9 m7 } * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
( l) Y0 c7 c0 O2 O: [0 `$ b6 e * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
- V S; U& f9 x7 I * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers4 ?- o, J' y/ B: B
* WHMIS training0 u& c( N$ ]" ~2 q4 J5 ~
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset; Q X" x9 F0 ^3 W) R( Y# I
