8 ]0 y d+ |5 D5 |Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
) Z0 x3 y% R+ \( |, ]1 }& Oskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded8 H& G' W4 [$ [, }9 _
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work& v3 g O5 |7 p( P. j: l
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as5 s5 t% ` R' a7 K# s4 A M
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
/ ~" s# G4 g- S: t. aservices and others.2 L( a' I' h( R9 e1 b! t0 `, \/ g
/ `1 X- r1 z" F0 `Candidate Profile:
0 [% C" P% `( B' m, z0 K5 H& b' m0 m8 Y% H' B! H4 ~9 z- d
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
3 A3 a; W+ `6 t2 c/ F& j+ @citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
- u4 f$ U! n) G5 ?* English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB: j/ x1 a# }7 D: f3 ^ A3 n
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post- F. z: q1 o& q* [9 b
secondary education
' e3 m+ n, j8 x5 P% j) c* A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
7 J# g2 r" b* W) Z Qoccupation% b$ b+ K7 s/ D9 d# `0 V$ g! H ~7 P
* Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed

* Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

* Improve your English while learning about a variety of
7 i8 \/ i: C* `4 P, v yhigh-demand occupations4 Q* p/ r0 b2 V: z% M
* Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
' d8 e$ X+ p" Y4 t3 ], J. {0 OInternet, etc.)

* Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates9 \( a, C' a9 | `2 u/ W9 ^5 e+ ^* g, F
* Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
