Program Overview:
" k& F. g' v- _2 r5 X) B, j3 q0 v
Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
4 \) Z( \9 E7 k' L0 k9 _program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
4 D3 X5 U; S# d! Q* b
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
8 c9 ^, L( s/ }. u5 K*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
) U+ }' M* O- F" q! msecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
6 X8 w" k! V. E6 _. i*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
5 A7 ^5 r. D: q( k) y! [# f*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
8 J: Q! Y% t/ L$ W' G4 `*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

$ \6 L, o1 w% h                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
0 D( c' c* z4 x( r. zfield trips
. }, e- ?0 X* u        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
) i; K1 b& N0 f" f8 j( k' T        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

! P- m3 }" f( A( P6 \Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
