# k- K" U1 s: e5 k: T5 pIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
) D* {- I4 z. c3 v6 ]skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
9 v/ q- n% l& sprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
: q. z/ @- }: hexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
' \0 v$ y% B' V- a0 q. D. xwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
) C0 y" Z; p3 }services and others.

4 W0 r+ T7 D! s! p6 M6 x1 kCandidate Profile:
4 s: H; I, M, P% `0 @' w* x
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
2 p5 {' q* T' m( Z* Ncitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
: g, X$ V3 a( A# L# H8 O/ g*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
& Y! O0 d& C# u  @*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

3 F& N4 L9 _( P6 h/ M% R* GProgram Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
1 W7 c% L3 S" N& ~3 p- u        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
1 j) ?1 G! g% _8 D9 ~2 ~* {        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
8 c# k2 l/ k8 h, p7 ]        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
# ^& D  W' d0 d& m' y/ _                        *        1 month work-experience placement
