Program Overview:
( x3 k' a' }, T- S, y' T! i, U
Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
/ I1 w3 V; P1 A3 A# z0 Uskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
$ S) z% d6 Z" j0 P: t7 Pexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
" u) A+ {, Q" n) E" b7 Nwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
0 x* H9 ~9 \$ L8 M; {& }
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
/ a# J; K( U9 O8 k6 ?*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
! A6 [4 X" u& esecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
5 T2 \7 d* ]6 G9 V2 |" eoccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
. Y2 T* c& k5 S3 N/ `*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
* K/ m) T; z3 u% W$ e3 k6 n*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months
; B; C# Z' G; }8 |
' V* G2 T5 e+ p( {* f0 u4 QProgram Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
  m0 X  K/ u- u, qfield trips
8 p' E) L# n1 o* Q1 u" C3 C7 o% s        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
5 l/ w! r- L' @# I1 }% I        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
