Program Overview:

, l- ~4 |0 d# i) KIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
7 G* C6 B" S& D/ ?  \3 D: @; Fskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
$ {1 }1 g( P, u. R2 Iprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
. |5 ~. V; `' n  E3 g: M$ o% w$ d+ iwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.
; z/ h3 Q6 T. B; G, P
Candidate Profile:
2 W$ r5 a' y7 K7 z/ R& s, w
* ?( @) ~! A3 |( |' F. {Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
; y3 e# F3 W8 T3 ?7 F1 usecondary education
4 Y4 D: ]. f; y* |* f*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
+ Z, Z" _8 \1 e/ [occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

7 c1 o  x5 }, }/ ?  M+ w% d        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
$ }5 a1 ]1 e/ `5 D        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  A- g$ ?: x0 N( j! K" N  R- SInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
) P& l7 K) o8 }, }2 b        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
/ O& [1 l. E' q. X) R5 z        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
