Program Overview:

: V* q$ [0 c$ a3 _Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
) b0 _) n( k! l5 m3 r* a9 z! Z. O0 bskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
! d. w" u" w% Y8 a
1 d. v; L5 q8 t8 F' g4 KCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
! u4 t+ D% K7 @3 f*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
# o: J6 {, X* r*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
/ O4 s1 F- B, h1 I7 ~occupation
4 {3 p& o" Y" J" v" [' z4 {*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
+ p9 A) D9 @$ Z: i" u3 D*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months
! g" A: O2 M- l. b- ^- C8 r
5 K- p- ?$ O! ?Program Description:

! s4 A, I$ t! D' a* L  r                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
: F/ r: p8 w9 ^6 q" V# ^5 _        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
3 L3 N4 F, S: Z, _9 ]1 m        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
