4 J K" G6 i3 S) m# OBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity& J' p" N8 M# Y6 z4 `, k* Y
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.5 R5 O& n4 ?% }0 y0 j0 D
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. & X# N6 [" p5 D1 S: c& [
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; V q$ m) o( n- m B i7 ?: G- s• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.

• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
% U! ?3 ]; _% l• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting M3 b4 C8 _ E1 e: |2 p
• Experience with children8 x- M. d% G7 X+ ~8 w8 ^$ D% Q
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
( P4 `. Z) }/ ?+ z9 A! X% a& k* I/ ^• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.6 d# C. D4 M$ @2 R: ^
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 y+ _) j" P* ]
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
9 p" K3 w/ M( Z$ T: c: _& p7 b9 D• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 5 K3 H' w( B, \9 T% v; X* L
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
