Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. % q5 b/ @! u. g2 n5 g3 f1 w

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
% O4 x: v% D, r• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.( f/ o+ W0 Y1 t" |
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 7 z7 u1 F- A$ t+ ?/ e
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
$ @: ^6 i/ T9 x$ m- V• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.% v# V/ H ]! U/ H/ l% V8 K4 Q
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time., w1 D+ f; N9 J
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.) V, i5 {! U) f3 }! R* j

The successful candidate will have:% C' }1 x. Z# r% V. i
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
6 x- J0 Y0 o& N- n; S6 @% x9 c• Experience with children
7 M+ J) Z6 l" I; n• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 4 R) w4 G F3 S! d5 z* W" e$ T# }
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
G, [& `" q2 F; I; T) k• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
4 o' N, T9 a' A! k: z) I• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
) [5 G @' D* s v' H& L. d2 n• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ) G: ~3 {% D! C" H, _
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 8 c- y% q& K. U- F( l% M
