Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 9 Y A( b Q0 `( R4 x# @( C

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include
$ p* |0 N* _5 S% S5 IActivity Planning and Daily Activity
- R5 K& R H1 ~- ?6 f2 ^• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.- @1 ?! Q5 B! {0 l, Y
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. - _1 w) `$ ~6 K" s* x6 y
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 9 _/ L8 f' K- u5 X F' c" \
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
% j8 Z/ g y% ^) } U. p( h• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.5 F, L* E4 Y { ?: Z M9 H t
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

! G9 e( R- ]' N% G• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting* s3 e$ N& g/ g: S' C5 p4 o! M
• Experience with children4 l8 Y& r& u4 s% u
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 0 T$ [4 `4 w0 q4 w Y! `9 B3 t
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
. W; c3 b- O+ t c" e+ p+ o• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.5 a- N3 \( E2 J5 D2 H& |) k
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources/ _4 h2 Y& g! _, w# \: M( E7 m
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
