/ {- w2 ^* n M5 o- PBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

Key Responsibilities Include
0 f- x' l) v+ s" T! I4 ` NActivity Planning and Daily Activity) r* c7 t _' ?0 P3 [8 O! G( J
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.6 f1 C0 A g5 O
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
) h4 Q: I; Z; p% c6 g: O• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
T" U: j2 D0 e2 y, l, B• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.( q9 R: c; a0 m" t$ j/ H2 o" Q
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
# m" p9 y! H$ }• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.5 H% d. b$ L( _, r9 {3 O

The successful candidate will have:
/ g6 M% t. O& R2 I2 o; N• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
% [0 }$ @! g( O+ A( l3 h! y• Experience with children
9 K8 g3 Z1 e" Q0 s• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
: U6 _3 Q8 D+ X" }2 ?8 O• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
' L7 h! Z0 u+ ]. |" W7 _# h• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.: Z7 q; ?9 V/ R, w7 B, v
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% _* V( f! e2 C$ u. G4 ~" m" ~( i• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
0 T8 }9 Q0 }' G, ~2 f4 V, f7 C• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
