Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

/ Z3 K; Q9 a$ Q; Z9 w' E( FActivity Planning and Daily Activity7 r$ J. d& u; `. _
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
* ^& m7 o% H. E( d' z. t4 {" _• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. , T. d* S6 Z3 x, J$ H6 v
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, - R3 m( P$ D& N/ u' h% B3 M% L7 |! u
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." z( g, w4 X& j6 {( y, |
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.2 ~+ i6 n' h) D( k7 H* ^. R4 f7 q5 r
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.8 g$ |. ]9 L2 g' N' H. N

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting g* o% G F9 b. J
• Experience with children2 `! Y% o% ]& E# J$ r( {& l
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 S c: y0 q! b% Q0 M" ?: Z2 g6 R4 e
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring., A M/ H6 u* Y" _+ f
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.* p ^) Y$ I* s, P" ^
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources R) G+ t' n1 s3 k3 t4 s _! E
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
+ T0 |- }' R5 _• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check , k+ Y7 ]& e- w% l2 o! p) q

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
