Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

Key Responsibilities Include, Q0 a- B; P4 O: n2 b, R( J* Q( G, ?9 t
Activity Planning and Daily Activity" d$ f! A! r# _
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.$ ?3 ^( M$ \: O& {) g) p) s
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
. a E D7 `& H0 x• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 6 Q# ]9 J @( S% N s: P; X
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.1 P4 g& q/ E4 {6 o7 R
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.7 S! a9 i d* X
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
( y+ o8 p, A- j• Experience with children
' Y3 v3 {0 H( O" \( S• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
6 `( I% D. ~) N! E$ Q4 ~• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ( M1 Z- I, A; e& S; {( ]6 p
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
