( b* d. ]0 A) u. v; ^6 j; VBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

, i1 n2 y- c( RKey Responsibilities Include! Z/ S+ F; J3 t; p O* k, u
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
0 _) k- t! _1 Z4 E2 A" U# D, l• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.$ g2 t* E F" n0 M5 u% F5 V
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ( p: S/ S( m# C& L3 c0 |# u7 b
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
, l* e' x( {' {% x0 b% e l [• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.! P/ Q C ^& t8 a4 x
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
) h5 G- ]6 h# X# Y( J+ l3 R• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:2 f; I4 N- F: N* x
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
) G; y6 l6 f( `+ j• Experience with children
/ y( b, O, e, L* Z G( G+ D• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 0 b6 E0 B% O' |# ]/ E; {
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
& V0 r# J' }: u# b- d* r• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented." m* y( F1 V, r: {! ~& C0 i8 Q% m
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
