JOB DESCRIPTION

- t$ M/ |2 A! [, ~1 _! jSpecifically, this resource will be required to have experience in setting up, administrating, and managing very large industrial configurations (i.e., large number of servers and environments as well as multi-process servers).
& r- O8 k) y  X3 H! QAdministration of production UNIX (AIX), Windows, and Linux server backups in a Dynamic Drive sharing environment.
Candidate must be experienced in designing and administering large numbers of standardized configurations and following ITIL standard administration processes.
( _; q! b1 }4 ^6 x; U$ w5 ]% ?Maintaining and implementing Enterprise Backup solutions in IBM SAN configurations, IBM SAN hardware and IBM Storage Manager Software.
Maintain hardware relating to servers and tape libraries in a raised floor datacenter.
" k+ P0 s8 e& ?. \: B, a- w0 XWorking with hardware and software vendor support personnel to efficiently resolve any issues with systems being maintained.
2 ?5 S- F6 F" O+ b3 O* JEnsuring all backups meet audit and SLA requirements. Archiving and recall backup reports for auditing purposes.
6 t6 W# d' P; T7 AHelp implementing enterprise wide system monitoring tools to monitor production Windows and UNIX servers running a variety of crucial business applications.
"MUST HAVE" SKILLS:
0 y* A" v2 o: P8 bThorough knowledge of Windows operating system and familiar with various Unix flavors like AIX, Solaris, and Linux
Strong IBM SAN configurations experience
- t, N! o& @4 j$ i# f7 E3 @: FExperience with enterprise tape backup solutions - backing up and restoring Solaris, Linux, AIX and Windows servers with both Oracle and SQL databases.
" p8 Y( s0 I: i/ z8 s& K+ `Experience with troubleshooting in large environments. 24 x 7 on call availability.
- |; {# c" t: T6 z& H, ~Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2 y/ x# O" x* A: G; a4 MCandidate must be willing to travel to client site and must have ability to work in both United States and Canada.
# O$ F, u* K" v7 D. h“NICE TO HAVE" SKILLS:
Experience with automatic tape library maintenance and operation.
Basic networking knowledge - such as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with routing on multiple network interfaces.
Experience with Nagios or other system monitoring tools.
