FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the . b$ s. |8 I$ |
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# O% g2 F, |& K/ |: l- eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 `9 w0 k8 u4 j0 t
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
) B1 z% u A1 w- m& lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# f: ~8 x5 a: Q! X+ P X* P* X+ NJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 G6 m( @+ i" _# d( r0 VFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
$ A9 j& m6 `7 x. owell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
! C, T0 T+ U" P; ~- I- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
1 E2 y8 M& K U* Y- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books . w8 T* T9 r, ]# I+ \
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
; @6 Y7 ?% W: K6 g# H1 C- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
9 e! r" X4 U) U6 ]# g# E! x/ g- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 X7 v" @; p9 J/ Y6 l& b. e

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-7 B' _/ X* ]( X" Z% [! o2 N% b

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: : h( G( }& M; t! {6 L# v. G/ ` \
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
: ?1 [9 t" ^4 }6 N' B! q- Strong organizational skills ! j0 @9 t6 Z: g" R* V A
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; Q8 \! C- b D0 \2 o2 B/ Y) }- U4 g- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
