FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
- {5 E, q; j( D" V9 i5 [3 A1 p' vsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to # ?+ h6 t4 r# f+ h( [* {
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern , u# S+ I2 V* S
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 o' A1 [. U l2 W2 h; L
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
8 h- p w) K- e! C# \and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 4 c. N. k9 i5 T, m
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
4 C5 m9 }* A# Y6 Oscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the , r$ h7 V& [3 I; i( k) ^/ S0 Q& s3 V
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 5 Y) Q' h$ `/ a- _; l0 S
well as the script, magazine and book library.
& Q2 _6 F+ A4 o* @ 8 ~8 ]+ }$ ?. W( s b) ^
Duties:
2 m( ^4 v- i; i- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ; ]" k$ D( c3 Z. p; J8 e9 X
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
3 `9 _9 ?, n1 S& w& ?- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 q8 d0 g9 P6 R8 X! n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 A! ~0 y/ b5 H5 g$ A
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
! _5 n$ K) V t% Q' _ ! h, h, W. b' a& g- |% O( N% }! P

+ g9 a5 D! f6 r& yQualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ( x" S# H6 v2 n$ F
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) q0 X) v# z9 P: M% Z2 r- Strong organizational skills , W1 z6 j. [5 o$ V4 i
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; h& U% D. X9 O) |6 c4 m/ x. u# K- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
