FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
3 i0 M: P6 i, f' [summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
! s0 J2 U: J! i+ @# m3 E. R4 y' rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern # e8 m; w/ u# e& |& m a! E9 X& v
Alberta. ; a5 O O6 |2 [- _. l

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 P! ?* s& J, K! m3 W! kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ! i& i7 u7 W" k; i
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: T8 z5 y' C+ L4 a! i$ g9 |( yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 i' r- l: j1 g6 z# {5 Zscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
4 Z& e7 r) W1 e% m/ e6 RFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as " Z3 l$ i$ K6 D& P E/ D
well as the script, magazine and book library. ! Z5 L7 y+ Q6 d' L0 ~, a
$ g( N1 L8 d- f8 j0 p& P; O) l
Duties:
+ T7 i9 c9 i% `! B' O- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
2 W( O. W% t/ W" D; t5 ~; n- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 0 s3 k) A# t& }6 L* M
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 0 ]7 I% b- A6 G5 o
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ i7 ^9 n: p5 s8 d3 a( |- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " y2 F+ x3 L! I" m5 {

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week . w9 ~. a; a- w. G
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 7 _' _' x6 ^- V2 j/ [" s
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
# n: D. N2 Y6 a9 P0 T- Z- Strong organizational skills + T. f9 t' s$ T2 A9 W
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
4 J( k% X4 `' q2 g6 v+ x- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
