FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
8 ^$ ~) n4 N1 _* X2 [+ bsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 7 l2 X' O# P( T
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
6 K. u) D% l- l/ VAlberta. 2 o' T; q3 d' m4 ?+ ~
5 \: f+ X( [) p- z6 qFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 [: `# b7 x8 \3 S# y6 p
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- |! T7 R& F! K6 F2 _! g) Dand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 W! y! l, B9 p* V" r; j" T
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
$ B l! x9 c( r' qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern V7 G+ x2 x- Y b' r
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
0 M& ^4 q! v/ P7 F) FFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ F* Z! P5 `* J8 Wwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
* p$ F6 }# h" V) W5 }- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 a5 U# A$ @ M" p
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- N( P$ |* }2 ~" m- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 O0 k+ U! X- Z( C) K7 Z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 i/ z' c/ l6 Z4 I9 P! q& z" d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
# ~% F4 e. `0 N8 I) O6 H- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
1 v+ a7 w6 j* U7 K- Strong organizational skills
$ o$ O2 A+ s! M# r# f7 ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred : N9 n: Q' Z. R( E# y3 x
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
