FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 e1 f. q+ R2 e( q I
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( F! j. U0 g t5 \
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ( m2 T; S" M+ s
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 W8 l3 C( s' A, t2 ]+ C* [6 F$ t
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * ~2 [( e" o; d
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ) y' Z6 I- V" o" q; y, M
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; H; {! g7 M" a; a1 c5 o6 u
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 `- A$ L7 Y$ }/ A+ Zwell as the script, magazine and book library.

8 U$ }! {2 ]: D- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library : j# t8 \7 l! R7 n- f) n
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 Q( k& c/ @; ^5 j
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! Y7 J5 ^. H! A3 ~# F" `! x- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
/ B! N$ G8 K+ G+ N+ }9 x- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 5 E. V# V+ u' _* r
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; I0 @) i9 E8 I: s# N- Strong organizational skills ( G; h, u G9 V$ r: k' B ]. [
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
