FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & V6 c+ V; h" y, a4 L# x8 g
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to " v/ P; [2 ^( W3 j+ \/ _ @
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
5 L' @& q3 K) V8 ^+ KAlberta. 1 k' H$ i/ v4 h5 u( c! b$ e3 [

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
: ]9 X; @ ?5 M' |emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 |& \, K+ H# `$ Fand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a : ^) ?2 x! ~8 i2 P9 J, a b/ g5 H
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 7 B. l' i# V7 Y% Q4 N1 U
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( L3 b$ t, x& ]/ `FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
, \' ~( }9 K6 h6 z* L: jwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: : ]; g1 D. n1 W3 s( N# ?, i
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
7 j/ Y0 n0 B6 h- F: H q( Z- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books i( o6 V6 w& g
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 4 G6 Q* ]+ s [' |7 a- t5 q, I) Y
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! _( ?9 k5 G& ^7 Q0 k3 e
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

& v* t3 }; h# X8 J& N- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week & g* l, e; d$ K4 ~
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

& h7 q- q# M& G* i/ t9 \- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
