FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
5 D5 ], U2 H3 Kwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 k9 \, w' C! B: e& M( Y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ( Q I" I8 B6 t+ {0 i
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ d& e0 A* A/ f7 a$ c A
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 1 m H; V1 ?! E5 m, t

Duties:
5 \% o4 X% V% Z! {8 P- Assist with research on acquisition grants 8 V& y& X) ~) ?& a2 H) b, f+ b; g
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 P4 P1 j0 m& _9 {% _- Assist with equipment maintenance
. [0 Z1 R1 Q+ k( s. U ~- Assist with production logistics for programming events 7 B8 Y' v7 Z+ }' R9 q# e
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - G, |) s j6 T& r& w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ! P$ b% B: C1 a- |3 K. s$ e

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
