FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization $ O p1 U; Z6 V& G# M+ X5 s' \4 O5 |
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media `2 }3 x# u# s

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video

9 C; ?2 c$ U/ X, v& uJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 5 C/ A( T# X: V8 O: M- Q
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by " b. c @ `" t. ?& b- ?+ Q
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. / u! t7 g) c; A/ E
% ?9 M; z) v% b% Z# zDuties:
# ]4 H+ Z j& o/ N' `/ Z3 w2 q- Assist with research on acquisition grants 4 P* @# n; e& D0 N* m8 o3 M( `* O
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- v0 N" c; Q# i M s# Q- Assist with equipment maintenance
4 @; h$ O- P+ v- Assist with production logistics for programming events # \) v4 B9 f( |) S( R, E
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 y( [4 `- D6 S& o4 S9 s6 e- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
