Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
6 g  F( g4 @" \, N6 D- O        provide services for Chinese community
9 |5 }/ ]: v4 A, R9 d1 F" c/ o-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
7 B- `: _( ^+ @9 U$ u6 Y        access to mainstream services
4 A/ h5 ~! @, o  [: G-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
: }, {( S4 M1 z3 ?: t-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
4 l6 D. b6 ?( w+ s; H* B2 M-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 r* c! Q4 R5 k' p-        update ASSIST website
1 R6 C1 q7 u& z: W6 i8 |- Y3 n-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
. D% T% q  _/ t5 f* ?-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# K+ |7 R- B' {4 x+ M, l7 [-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
