Position title: Community Development Worker
1 s" f% L! A" L. _* p7 STerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

/ [5 o0 b9 i/ c7 E- S-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
7 u% s4 _+ _: z/ @7 w3 T4 i        provide services for Chinese community
1 V, \. D! C( t( \4 U3 E-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
# t6 K. {# l5 ~  R        access to mainstream services
" n) Z6 p7 r9 A& C# K0 @! x$ J3 f6 g-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
* p5 l! D7 a: {3 R) k        social services
' m) M/ \, G0 E/ ]: o# ?* g4 A3 Z$ H-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
% g3 ?  ]& o, S: r-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

+ b6 R  v: T4 E1 hQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 S/ f7 w, U9 t% Y! ~# D        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
) g2 z3 ^. I9 m-        experience in website update/design
* I8 K& K! q- z& e0 o) _/ y-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
