Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:! m7 k0 K* h3 d; L; E
- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
# F+ ]% s6 V) Z. J* \5 o (ages 6 to 15) ' v, I$ v9 W6 P0 G; n4 m. S! S
- Recruit children for summer programs
% K6 p+ \7 _% v; A0 c; a$ @- Recruit volunteers for summer programs6 }% ]5 }( x5 z
- Record keeping% ?) U( c, K! r) F2 _ ^" ]
- Provide orientation for parents8 F5 p$ Z, j& Y, v9 b
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency6 A: X% L! M/ s
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager) `8 S1 b9 h4 M/ W* o

Qualifications:
- }6 |( m/ C2 b; {+ p( d. r4 e- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education' a, A" N& H9 C) s' `3 ]
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
4 M6 t S6 x/ @- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
% V; K+ l7 d7 e0 a* T; e- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities$ o9 j/ y5 `: j* C$ v
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
9 A7 ]& Z J2 A- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities& ~8 K$ {) [0 X5 l- @' V9 r
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
. \& p q# E ?( o3 [- Returning student (should return to school after summer)
; v) C& B! T& ]1 ~" [" K, x- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
" S6 W6 A) @& |2 I& o: g# E and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
