* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
: F& }* }+ a: y' H$ q% s * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
6 E$ r% a) i: O( L * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance( \4 U: l/ C" l7 M3 O$ ?
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students / T0 A0 P6 M% K& z! B9 f: E2 I
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
; Q' W+ r0 A' r" y& Y) H * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs/ _2 f1 y/ u, f% W) p
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment3 q8 I( C& a$ y$ T2 I; _

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
