* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications6 `5 d. J: N0 N! A# P# T' r! q2 j, k" `
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis4 u" o \7 X G+ Y$ G" B: X
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
6 r# e3 L; g$ d- { * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 7 M9 E4 o, T& W$ y. i" x% H
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
) {" Y; Z* C, L' B& u! g * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
