Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
: c/ G; g0 z" k( V * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis: V H4 K$ z9 P# U$ ]% g) w" u
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance* C6 ^* [) W; w+ r: E5 g
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 1 j& |4 [) a3 u5 J* O- [! d
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred1 t$ A$ i0 o8 ?, G/ P5 A
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
