* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
. w# J8 c, s7 B, z * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
) b* @- f: }8 f& H1 l3 S; } * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance* g% ~! j7 \+ }, s
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 3 ]& i' B% P9 M7 A
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies, _* X3 T7 Y/ L
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications

+ ^" |9 \1 U: v5 s7 j5 I3 C/ ?5 k * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
8 G! s/ Q1 R) S7 r& b * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
