4 _6 h$ c. u* X; u0 \. A8 b" Q * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
" ~8 a7 E$ j1 o' m4 V * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis5 x) A! v# M$ U, x6 p1 Y3 [
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
' c$ H ^% u3 j# P4 ^% j * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students

I$ q/ i& t0 Q * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies3 C' F M; Z3 A
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs3 k4 Q/ _% b z' F
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment; C/ p3 U2 i5 Z. y0 P7 F' m* b
