A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 Q. S# o, _# M6 w: O/ S. D
The program includes the following elements:3 t; F3 v( P g- r
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)# B" k9 Z" J! {6 x0 B
• Standard Child Care First Aid
& b. ^* \0 Z% }• WHMIS
9 Z) X$ Y2 M$ i9 h• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
" o: p$ @+ O/ Q• Components to improve communication skills* A% l( P0 v2 r0 }1 w" `+ d" h
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search8 n$ {- r! S2 z0 a+ C1 y
• Practicum Placements
/ O* f+ p+ Z- d( wEligibility Criteria' I! a& r, X I7 O
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
* }6 P( ^7 u, z) |6 jof Canada
; e* x7 G* {/ b& B! S• have a Social Insurance Number
7 b* ]2 q2 o2 t) y* y• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
2 V3 l9 Y D" u: u• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
7 m+ M( B, i+ o1 i, X( @6 ]' O* L• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
