A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:- c- e( \9 T. ]- r
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1), N$ k1 O( ~. y+ ]. _
• Standard Child Care First Aid7 ~6 p1 m3 ^! O; _! n
• WHMIS

• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search8 A' N2 F1 I o& k9 C6 U- |( P7 x( V9 v
• Practicum Placements

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen5 t1 }/ O7 L( C
of Canada
$ W* p g4 a8 K7 E+ X) m' E0 }• have a Social Insurance Number; k, `2 D; h: L, i# _- m5 C2 F6 w3 Y7 u
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check1 D+ j* ^8 G6 U2 T+ @
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent; w: p3 u& J- ~' r7 x
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time& W! R( j. c& p, G7 G; D+ J

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet7 Y5 r3 d; J. |* Y0 q) x( C3 S
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:* m! S' G+ C+ ^( d# z
• be unemployed or underemployed.$ D" q- ]0 o! J
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course3 ]: i* {$ I u% n: X
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
