A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
0 j5 P: {5 [3 a' M8 V• Standard Child Care First Aid
! V: n3 D8 n4 b. }2 i& T3 J6 t• WHMIS7 K4 H: q' L; H6 l( w1 w ?
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care* X$ m. R( x) o% I* H2 ^# M" r) _& a% m
• Components to improve communication skills8 `5 {1 c( n# w* I
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
4 `8 k( Q- K# C4 [% R• Practicum Placements. U, Q" @# \: Q' c8 N% S( O5 T
Eligibility Criteria% t$ v$ b! k5 u
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen% K1 Q |, K3 t/ X9 `2 Y# {$ [ w
of Canada% C" D) w$ A M% \$ L7 s( t
• have a Social Insurance Number0 n. x: |; K/ U; S, t/ V0 b
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check5 a/ _' x# T5 k/ Z( s" z* p( a
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent6 j# K0 F& o6 Q! w
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
$ J& j" S6 t5 ~1 u: i% i2 h x; e" Iprogram1 c5 N$ n0 k$ `& b) d4 J
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet/ B8 x! T! f7 V! R- s' P
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:9 W& B- N8 B2 d! ?' l
• be unemployed or underemployed.
7 S9 E3 \) T& D8 F. BThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course- T+ c& i D- j2 Q; ?0 R
• meet the financial eligibility criteria' T5 o0 A) P3 {" K
