A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.- l1 n9 H* {0 { J, X& g9 |
The program includes the following elements:
- m* ~% g2 U- F( o$ l$ S• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
- D b9 @% d: [+ j# D, @! x, @; m• Standard Child Care First Aid6 o8 T o2 a/ c W! w7 ]
• WHMIS
3 }; a' w s' G$ h l• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
5 `$ S, q! u* w' F; u• Components to improve communication skills6 K$ O& l2 G4 {" e V6 P
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria
$ |3 ~ E0 p; a* ~, o3 y• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
: P! J) v+ W( \2 U1 D) Yof Canada
. @$ W2 l* P, v/ N# _- { H• have a Social Insurance Number6 U' \# k4 n$ Z8 c, V
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
$ Y3 |6 z( U1 \8 V6 b G• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
e3 Q2 x+ V6 l6 G3 x5 s$ t• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet# ]6 [% Y- t3 N% t
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

• meet the financial eligibility criteria
