“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.( B% k# }' Y; B9 y& e3 [6 B
8 \8 Z) z2 u. Q( C0 h 折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.
