但是,这个“不折腾”怎么翻呢?据说难坏了各路翻译精英们。! E1 a W& K3 h( p" K% I
. `2 b5 J1 N( d% M, v
在网上收集了几种译法:供各位参考,希望起到抛砖引玉的作用:
! I8 s1 K: K! k# Y
3 g9 F% `& D$ T- r 1、don"t flip flop (别翻来倒去,朝三暮四)5 q% S) J' t% d* {
7 h. k! x$ @; W) t3 C! P 2、don"t get sidetracked (别走岔路)
2 ~' U& D1 F6 I5 T7 x4 V! p; e9 K+ s! i8 Q, s+ N
3、don"t sway back and forth (别反复)" w- H4 `3 {: K. `4 }9 a ^
* K+ }4 z% F, L0 \1 F5 \
4、no dithering(不踌躇)
5 j5 Z4 ]5 c8 x2 T L: r$ z& X) E+ D# T
5、no major changes (没有重大变化)
7 m; ~! {4 n$ s7 F
6 {/ |7 M( e r$ z e. | 6、avoid futile actions (不做无用工)) R1 ~* ]1 X3 \
/ m, a9 }( G& Q) u3 ^' } 7、stop making trouble and wasting time
- Z' H6 E3 {2 ?- @9 W9 L, {
& o( r( d( V: \, A8 a1 c 8、no self-consuming political movements (不搞自我消耗的政治运动): \2 x( q8 k+ Y$ O) z! |& t
% ^, ~2 i* o6 q+ a, P
上述译法,觉得都不够准确,不够精彩,没有把“折腾”的全部意思表达出来。这里推荐一个译法,感觉比较恰当:
1 Z& [0 G5 U) R, S$ F% |
# _$ `1 j( v6 V) J3 h3 g9 Z avoid self-inflicted setbacks (不折腾)
' o3 F- C# @' j7 j9 t& |
: J# C- H7 _) R2 p- e 原因是:' D$ p) E! i. U W- Q
- y0 E% l( v( U: W. _ “self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.
; M- n- c+ \) ]- N4 G' F' w6 L S+ t
折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.
& {2 }5 T5 |9 A2 P+ e3 J! u% P, E6 d: P# ?; @" p
“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
