) ~( a2 q* V0 ^! M* NRecently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
4 U/ q1 j7 ]* Q# l' o+ ^months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. 3 J6 v; ~( t1 i2 K/ k }
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
5 Z/ Y; {) R; T3 `7 R W! oleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants

to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 7 h6 m5 R7 }$ a: O
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. 8 O8 l4 M! C ?5 _$ l+ ^3 y

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and 7 g2 C( M3 L7 N0 x; x

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 1 s& w% \; L" W/ B9 V% }9 m
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

p% S; z, \5 x. K8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 7 e1 z& ]& ~+ d* j1 d2 G; `+ O
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
. z) W% F7 {! t( \: l8 D* R1 R# yavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
7 k8 P0 l, Q# q! Aoil.
* L! R" @& X, c" r/ N& x9 d0 C' y- S6 r$ A, H& w
4 \/ w3 m' {! i1 Z) @9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 ! K% a. D+ W$ i5 `3 W- ]% Y9 _
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into & c4 u; D; I- s: L R! x
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 5 \# K# z6 P" U* W3 V% w! Z5 C& Q# B
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. % j! b9 t9 @2 f6 _ c

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
5 p$ H! y0 h0 ?' ^- Qprice of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
( @% {2 T' z, {5 m) a$ rchanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
0 Q$ T* }0 j& P$ p6 @to control oil prices.
