4 u# ^! t( p* U8 T% [$ J( hPosition Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry. + d2 V, c% Y- @7 Z6 E
. C$ e' E+ `# R: f- UThe Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship. , H4 r8 y! W+ {+ ]7 a" C# n

The ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable. : }5 H% E8 @( s% g. n
$ N& ]+ u7 D1 b1 X# k- KIn Addition: the candidate has the ability to create and lead the development of the vision for The Mustard Seed within his or her sphere of responsibilities. : M% a3 l) ~- _, ]
! i6 J: p% ^% L9 B+ c9 PYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly. / |' O3 M! t! `8 f1 m( Q% u) W! t

Key Qualifications: a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent; proven track record in volunteer management; experience training volunteers and/or staff; a member, in good standing, of a local community of faith; willing to submit to and ability to pass an Enhanced Security clearance by Correctional Services Canada and an Employment Security Check.- |6 z6 O9 G m! i.
