Position Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry. - s& t; b: d6 J4 [

The Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship. & t$ s. G9 ]4 A4 n! P" v" m( J
* S+ j8 W0 p; T M& f2 N9 lThe ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable.

- ]2 A; S( y+ j1 f5 {' iYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly. % c) W/ b% a5 h/ k
/ M3 Z8 \7 c- N7 k: m( {Key Qualifications: a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent; proven track record in volunteer management; experience training volunteers and/or staff; a member, in good standing, of a local community of faith; willing to submit to and ability to pass an Enhanced Security clearance by Correctional Services Canada and an Employment Security Check.
