In the first incident, a 30-year-old man is dead in what police are calling a "gang motivated" shooting near Whitemud Drive, the Edmonton Police Service said in a press release.4 j2 l3 S4 f- @* ~$ m

1 man dead in stabbing
" N2 V3 D3 U4 ?& dMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.1 M- `9 o( d0 X# ^0 A/ N, x
, m4 t! r0 J t) [Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.

A police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.: U- j& ^' k' O. q) N7 q

The three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.
