Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program% G# ]. t3 A( `8 i
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities$ _2 ^1 R3 v1 P0 Q
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes3 c) s: q# W% |* ~3 j
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat+ B y" z: v/ [4 W8 H1 g
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders3 Y* W8 c9 @) b+ p! ?2 |
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
+ A6 w3 `! w3 X3 l. ^# { * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
/ ~" r1 ]/ Z% A5 _7 \ * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
4 u" m$ t8 z1 J! a& h3 B * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media" A6 ]) l- X4 x, s* x
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results1 s, K5 o% N# h4 \: V# w, Q6 Y
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred* j! o- @ G3 T( t: |" ~6 y
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
; V \& ]6 s- ~& H$ o. S2 {) u* c * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset$ F( w% c, d' X1 k- l6 M
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies: f- J$ f* R6 {/ Z' V
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
# |3 k+ o0 ]' P3 ?" n * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
