8 [3 t# _0 e ?( a$ h' U6 B( A * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program- ]( g y S$ A1 y
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities, p: p7 j3 q# N5 \, _% l4 m" E+ h0 X
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
% ] |- A* X( N. G0 u$ Q, j * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
$ u" Z9 h) K9 n * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders6 A$ _' W9 G) ^. u5 J
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements9 p0 w B8 M7 K) U- E' r) [
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs8 h' N5 o* U5 z9 w8 \
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
d# g5 X8 ~( t" G1 z' D * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

9 i- W8 D! n7 G* R2 K * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications( ]$ G' e t# j2 c- s+ G4 W9 P
! W0 j! i: k# m B0 L * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred# b: v5 g5 O* b
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth7 X, o- Y8 ]6 V: R2 h) f) q8 m
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
\( t# H. ?/ f& b; B$ m * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
1 E! H, u: k! m2 F6 `) n3 V1 J * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
! M$ S8 N' _0 e/ \1 J% p * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning6 {1 ^7 Z( ~; T! n+ V( g
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
