* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
) ~$ C3 |' m+ R) i5 R; l- D * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities6 G, a5 R* B F! X2 k
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
5 e. h* z4 t7 C, |- b, x * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
6 U( I K/ h' ?' { * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders6 G1 _: q: r$ j t( I- @
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements7 M, F w" }( L) _. |
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs, G3 I% q$ }2 V, k# h# U
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
' Q# P+ c) v/ _" q+ K8 m * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

Qualifications! e9 T- X' z3 P8 h* l
1 @( }, Y/ s3 Q1 ]- Z: p% e# n * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
) z* A' m# t4 i * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
0 i! G3 K) U3 u * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset% ?0 x* z0 O1 n, J
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies1 v# b8 L6 d3 M3 A& G
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
0 \8 `$ e8 l# _! } * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning8 x4 |& v6 ]; Y; s& n/ i
