: G1 O* M# `* { H * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program M# ~; \* k1 [. H1 _
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
# s5 }' ]- J+ R$ T9 S! |5 J * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes4 ?; T, ? q6 W. z
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat3 v# @( ]0 E8 ?: X. d( U! v, Z6 U
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders# u1 t( {- f/ |; {2 U' U. W
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
( v3 Z# o+ ~" ?0 h& @ Q * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
! M* u: R. o7 ]$ k4 D0 j7 R3 G" ^ * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
. }& v# t+ g0 g" \4 M * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

" g: G! \9 @ z* w$ h4 P6 ~4 e% l * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications

8 g3 O8 K9 l1 S6 u* n * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
+ Z1 |# r* F g* |( N: C * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
/ z: F" r% a. i& m( m * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset* s3 C9 q* {- m% @; _8 y# b
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
$ _6 Z( J- M; j8 g! U * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills6 k" g' `, K* S" I) Y+ d3 W
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
% F/ D: p" w/ ?2 ^; A * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)9 H% K) k6 W8 ?/ \: Q$ @; j
