* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
" g* F3 Z- E# S& Z3 A3 q: V * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
- o: t) D+ O0 `# K+ G- t * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
9 t- q f; O9 C0 C+ m& T( t * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations9 q4 ~5 f' |4 P. i; h6 c$ q
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
, V1 ^! D6 g, O: S2 P * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses( f0 A4 R: d% R: k4 k! G
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth/ U* A; B, \& v' K/ s
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
7 j* Y3 {8 ~% m; w" {; B( p, G
, G1 ]2 _8 f, h! \6 }, F2 l; e * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline8 X' n; z, X w/ A# N4 S
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' O( ?' f. C% u& s9 Y6 q% Q: O * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
K: ~8 H& m" L9 d t$ ` * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs. ?2 S. g+ g* u' ?
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community: Q6 } {8 s9 T: ~' g
* Fundraising skills an asset
1 }% b9 j& Z" Z- p8 e * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
