    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region0 G! v: _) E% B$ b
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
! e  p3 [* \' M, r% C4 k    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
& q. v& i/ K1 G1 i$ J    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
! [1 X3 }) d% J9 D( u$ ?    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
9 E6 a# L; n+ D* u! S) |    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
$ ~( U5 r3 W: e3 L    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth" z# y) a2 F  a5 O0 Y
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
! F( y* \. `- H% R3 I6 n8 `    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment  \0 n: c& t2 H$ w+ o
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
/ e0 r# q0 _- }0 `4 M    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs$ m, n( H: o' y# H
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
; z2 M, M5 h5 R) N: J! C& W6 S    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
( D7 R8 r! k# l) Y9 Z0 H/ b! f    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications! s5 [! J/ S3 i3 w4 a7 h- N

* w. L% @# `7 f    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline3 B; g8 Z! @1 U( I2 ]
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
5 R# b- j; }" @, j6 y    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies/ ?$ [8 h9 T) S$ p: x) B
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs- w$ S! I4 `6 z$ ~/ j, E, k
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community; D+ K- s3 B' z2 z. j
    * Fundraising skills an asset. i- T' x1 |2 d
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
) G1 M4 w( u& J1 i' w    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills/ g2 w- C  r$ D+ G/ ^
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills- {" z# ]8 d* k3 C0 Z
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
& D% n. L' D; [  A0 T    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset5 J  e5 ]" A0 n+ {$ `4 p
