    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
1 S6 b, `" E$ M' J9 M    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 f) B8 s/ k. q    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators" Q, D# O  c* L; M1 o$ R
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations1 J) U- _9 o! X, w
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
" s" q' d( y! K: r: }& B) ~/ u0 a+ L+ R* j    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
1 x) O6 }1 _* X) b+ h    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth0 K( a7 b$ D% v' G- A
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
" {3 `* ^+ x5 G) w    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
* M5 c$ p! r/ D    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
- S& q( x  r+ Z9 z* k# z    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
' B" V; _, Y: @& Y5 U4 v2 m0 x5 m    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
# ~0 i4 {4 q( Q    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
: Y( `/ p; R* [  T! E  A8 F    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

3 b, r. j4 T- C  ?- n' r9 x' ]    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline% }- _  s5 ~, M5 P' M& J
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth9 Y9 \% \: h$ D8 K
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies" S6 ]+ h, Y( G* L  _
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
5 c4 M+ w5 h) U3 l1 w    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community" D8 p, g9 r1 c4 H0 d
    * Fundraising skills an asset4 q$ X8 h) R% ]9 ~, X% h
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills0 d7 M6 h, l1 z' C+ d" e; G+ b3 K% f
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
  L7 W8 a) z; ~    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills0 j" G1 m2 [$ t( {  t3 Y0 Z
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills$ |1 L1 g1 n& r$ n. [! V8 n
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
