    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
" g* F3 Z- E# S& Z3 A3 q: V    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
- o: t) D+ O0 `# K+ G- t    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
9 t- q  f; O9 C0 C+ m& T( t    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
, V1 ^! D6 g, O: S2 P    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
8 p  X: v! E. H; }+ \    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
$ Z8 l- y+ w( o7 V    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
3 k+ h, \3 r  i) ~) Q( A# @    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
) q$ G4 y0 _, B+ |    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
7 j* Y3 {8 ~% m; w" {; B( p, G
, G1 ]2 _8 f, h! \6 }, F2 l; e    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' O( ?' f. C% u& s9 Y6 q% Q: O    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
  K: ~8 H& m" L9 d  t$ `    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
1 }% b9 j& Z" Z- p8 e    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
