Context: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society. D7 r, q" T w' Q/ Y; R- O/ y
8 U) {0 Y" _: y3 J6 ^Key responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities. q% Q( V" H' ?/ b1 a7 f, H Y& \
( l2 g. {3 ^$ A$ t* Q1 }PLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program.

Key Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services. 1 f" \: B9 L/ u, i0 m8 p( _
' s) o2 m: b1 t9 K) CPLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset.
