Position: Regional Program Coordinator - Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries Project / Location: Edmonton / Status: Contractual Full-time, 35 hrs week / Closing Date: July 11, 2008.

EISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels. / k7 s$ C( ], {3 M
- ^3 x6 I* o- h$ o" Y# h6 ]
In order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray.

6 A8 T4 R# U2 F: wKey responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.6 }9 W! m, e3 G8 F+ n

PLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project;  promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.4 H7 K. S: _% j% a+ R5 A) V( y  p

X+ s4 ~- |' O/ |7 U' m; l& I. wKey Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French.
