0 g3 D( o1 C7 I3 g) cDuties

    * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
: P" e: J2 B6 v2 T    * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
    * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
! a! t+ ?  L( _9 n    * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
* U5 B+ F* D. B2 w2 I9 ~: X    * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
    * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
    * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
    * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
4 V: f' a; l- f+ Z% ~    * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

) G: i  B7 ]$ U3 [& b" ?8 q/ }
    * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
    * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
4 E! Q) r9 J* @, @+ \    * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
    * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
    * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
