$ | u2 s! y7 M. J3 U0 F+ t * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis( _+ D2 `8 D9 I. r4 S% }5 @ q% g
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography# A/ Q& X" Q: N; N4 k
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques" K% A( U& [. l/ T
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client2 x& j/ j- g) ]" N4 T9 e
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry9 E# o |2 C0 ?4 A* q
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals6 r4 ^: `/ `, X* Q2 t8 R9 P9 k
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab1 ]* C$ G( w n; F$ ?: \% B
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
, s& d9 `5 A! f5 l) A8 D * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
+ i2 I! J- C7 E8 v8 W8 \# p * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
. N) _/ q' }4 M * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
; V$ o0 e9 O3 X * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures- W1 L9 I; q. Q/ l3 L
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
