* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
: P" e: J2 B6 v2 T * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography* J* D9 p' w/ Z7 Q! i4 P4 Y
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
! a! t+ ? L( _9 n * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
* U5 B+ F* D. B2 w2 I9 ~: X * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry W7 c# z( C' `, x
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals& E7 ^: F2 T m& N, Q- S( D' y. i
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab+ J; N1 e* ]. Z+ W
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
4 V: f' a; l- f+ Z% ~ * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred& Q+ b4 `' {$ ]: \
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
4 E! Q) r9 J* @, @+ \ * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel4 ]* h: j5 f) Z! w
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures4 K6 V$ |9 m3 Z! x, b ^
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment( i) U( i9 X# b2 e
