* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
. _; A6 g$ I! B5 U7 W * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography8 m; G8 O7 ^, Y2 _9 S
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques3 C0 t! w/ X; ^) b# ^* n
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client; ?* C' O+ i/ P0 z M
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
1 k0 [" S% p1 M5 q/ A' m$ ]8 x1 w * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

# T2 W7 j; S& F% P * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

Qualifications
' C/ [4 N9 v! d5 i# X( h0 }% t
+ q0 n; g5 c7 ^$ F * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred1 ]$ G0 F0 R/ n
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
6 T/ d) d D3 ? * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel- k% b7 r J, i& T. b. W" ]
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
