Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Job Description

- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
' a1 }7 v7 b1 ^0 H6 U: \7 Y- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

0 e; X- Z- ^0 [( {& f- post secondary diploma

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
8 c, L- P3 @: b4 F/ p# z+ p# Z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
0 ^. E7 J! N3 z2 W6 {: A! x7 {- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
6 j; m8 T { C; ?' @- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
. a% [" j2 U5 l& g* y- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
. v/ }+ z# D+ ]" j8 C" J+ w5 c- update ASSIST website ]4 z \3 c0 l
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
4 t0 R( Z* H( }5 O- c8 W- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services/ x T" R8 x+ M0 m' t
- assist in writing proposal for ISP# e. \2 Z# N, C' k; f7 O& K
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP$ r' M% _9 G& k, H% f: l, Z
- hold regular meetings with ISP team
8 y! f- J( m: a. c; u5 P- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! a! G( Z$ A! O8 L% ?
7 b6 o4 G! K# p7 _Qualifications) g# K4 ?3 x; z) n& a; J4 V* [
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
H: y' |0 z! F U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills2 t& L5 x- L5 E+ y+ m3 N
- experience in community work and immigrant services
