Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.* r; w* ]+ t. {9 Y) b& S
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
# a! Q; l: T" y9 O0 b, @" X- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

Qualifications:9 r9 F) H! n& m% v- @/ m9 c, z; l
- post secondary diploma 4 m6 o* }1 L8 r" V. F' u
- customer service and office clerical experiences7 b" f) p- v$ K$ e/ u# x* H
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
8 E+ P" \. e' B- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
2 |+ o3 t1 S: ~+ l8 g3 ~* L- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
( D4 T" I. E5 ^/ U0 \4 z/ u- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies8 L4 h" r3 n9 a5 U' |* M% D
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
6 r3 H% }' O3 k3 j4 \- update ASSIST website
e# ~) M. u: F; B k% E1 a- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre$ p! h% S5 ]2 S0 } H P! O! [( ]
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
: N- h6 e1 m1 D/ |- assist in writing proposal for ISP* u' D/ A5 G5 U$ d- [& M y
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
: ?0 _0 T: I$ Y# q; d- hold regular meetings with ISP team
) g0 g- D+ o& Q2 P& k7 s% g; ?- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

8 U4 w- d ?0 _4 Q! f& Y7 h- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications% x$ a. C& d! @# Y) c
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 7 V i7 I1 Z. K- U, |1 @% e7 {
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills8 n: w, G3 e7 x' }
- experience in community work and immigrant services
