PREPARATION:
; q- @1 T8 a A$ V4 z* c8 DBeat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. - Z7 k& q1 ^# Y: a+ {& R
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. . L" d1 y H$ p5 C' Q: p* j: N
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered. H' ~$ b8 i5 ]" I/ `

It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.- W# g( [4 z8 e! u. e

For beating, you can buy a simple Hand Mixer for about $10. It can not only be used for making cakes but also bread, or mashed potatoes(土豆泥)ect. |
