Senior Agency/Program Manager

• is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board

• develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

• provide opportunities for staff development and growth

• build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

Programs/Services

• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
1 n' `" l/ \) k8 s% q• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders

• identify community and user needs and trends/ @) s& h$ f% E) j6 Z
• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends8 n$ B7 Q% X* ^# J) {" m
• conduct program evaluation/survey/research5 c' d9 w" P7 [7 m# J6 C) T
• maintenance of appropriate reporting& M) D2 r3 R! e
• delivery of program or activity to participants as required4 n A; q3 ~: d
• build on knowledge of community resources in program development
% O; G: V+ V2 o• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities C& X# ?7 t4 L* z& g) N( e1 _
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders
* S/ L0 ]; S' ^• communicate the value of the organization to the public, R4 `8 n1 \; b- U' R% e t
• identify community needs and trends# g: M6 V! V# Y0 t5 u
• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups4 {' d" I/ b( r0 H) Z! ]
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups0 s9 u3 X' W1 z
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.& B. ]' ?+ b2 R" D4 i; s# J" ^2 K
• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff% A6 c: m4 ^5 W1 X# l( a
0 n# J5 U1 h9 Y7 gQualifications
$ O# b: a9 C" _- B& w, M4 i- University degree in a related field;
8 v& F; h( q N. y4 c1 H( I7 p, a- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;$ Z% |( @" J" e
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; & i# t: L4 I" T; h1 X1 |" w
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization 4 h; c1 e1 p. Y7 h5 m0 L T
