Board

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
' h& j, ^/ Z3 f, A. b9 f/ a: [•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures

•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

Staff
; s# Q! n! }2 r•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
! c1 _1 j$ e- i2 _; B•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
' c8 a+ M7 `6 a" v0 D0 U•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
•        meet with staff on regular basis
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

/ y' ]# D. A; R7 ePrograms/Services
•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
; M, t  A0 k" i; [/ d7 L! B1 e3 z. A•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
9 @( s1 `, z7 H! R$ m$ r& u•        set program priorities and directions
$ Y$ e3 Y; a" w, b' O•        identify community and user needs and trends
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
! x; K. M& e( t9 y7 I•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
# F2 C) R) }" q•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
) [% D2 Y! p! U) @•        identify community needs and trends
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
8 M$ v4 g: q: ?  X•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
$ P% M- @8 B; s2 `" k" H& [0 M, }•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

Qualifications
8 c+ z8 e" `) r-        University degree in a related field;
) {# D9 I6 T3 @: r" W7 Z-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization

Salary
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
