Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator % d0 ?% L5 C4 {, c+ O' T
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities( m( X/ v( x# t& d
- submit information for community news
. g U7 a+ T) L9 h" n- provide volunteers to update membership database
' k5 |0 O# w" D- v1 M- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers4 _1 X7 \/ A) n3 u' z( X" k
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties/ j5 ~: n2 P6 y t9 A
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties7 S$ L, w' U" z9 q: v
- provide volunteers for various programs 4 Q* y% [1 ], o$ P. ^8 W
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
: f: e! H1 ^; H( Y- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
% S0 A# d! F; [( [+ j Z3 @- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities8 y8 z! M1 f4 ?! h' W
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services% a+ d/ P$ ]6 E0 G9 z8 d. Y
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ |$ f2 M9 ]; u; p8 ~0 x% F0 B
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed j ] Q( k8 n6 k9 G- C4 L1 I
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
/ }3 c1 h, N7 J; l& B" u w- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
5 A# }' q: o u6 {4 ~' {- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 D( y m, p8 h8 k. h
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 6 a' U4 `4 {; e& M
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
7 l2 e; m; b! w- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers & m' z% \! q1 g0 k3 \# n
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
7 D0 D( ]$ k9 }4 [- S- evaluations : g: _) V" ?. V
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
# B+ p4 A* V/ J J( ?) K- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 H8 H8 s+ o! X5 R- i1 H
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
( c E, V: O, ]* L% T0 K* c- leadership skills: k- _7 U4 G$ h8 E$ r) i* G
- management and supervision skills; R$ g8 k7 r8 H% u' b
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills6 P) l a6 J) ?* ^, Z8 R7 d8 ]
