Key Responsibilities9 l. W3 U% m1 n! P) k
- submit information for community news
! G, k$ ?, w7 L; E- provide volunteers to update membership database
9 e& @" Q' d" ~% w% n" l- b- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers+ r2 I7 K" K H
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# G- A7 [5 u8 c0 e
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
0 j) o1 H3 u+ f5 i* H- provide volunteers for various programs / s: m, y& t2 d% F+ s1 H
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
9 }! B* C2 ~5 V i- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
9 v; W F2 @( D6 h6 e- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
" e: ~8 ?7 m2 I- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services9 u( X* Y: e" e) [
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports

4 e$ W, b* J3 T7 P- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
# N# d4 n M0 x6 u- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
" Q @) o$ A% y3 J$ z) T+ ?9 S- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
# y" L3 h, }2 e2 R; _4 T$ E- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
4 x6 ^ ~/ Q2 t% X$ C- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

/ c5 X: \3 a1 V! ?8 n- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education! k; V. m2 _8 P! `
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ R! u& r$ Z5 @: c s% k. Y- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
