2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

7 c% D, q/ N, K4 D& D1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 20003 ^1 y( q; Y- d* a4 B
! M: [$ t) Z9 a5 _: Q/ G2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.- G% K" Y4 s. a: ^
( p" q- `: L; y4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing / G1 H/ u2 i1 V
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 0 {" E# ?. P1 P% e& n- B4 K
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ 6 h d, H* K+ n' D3 H6 t
referenda.

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate - Q' a) z# N+ D5 c! K1 l5 U+ n
parties.

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/ 4 K- f$ W+ s+ r! e( b# ~) E
referendum.

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, + b) U, ^' c! [ _

of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance./ F: U" L, g' G8 a, |5 F+ M: C/ ]

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during
e, a/ |, ], Uthe course of an election/referendum.

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting 4 D5 x4 N% @2 M0 o' S2 N

QUALIFICATIONS:

Union member.

5 O n" @2 G) m2) Must have some experience in student elections.4 R; d& P9 i% J' M& w

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or ! X7 G# f% o& {! a
any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position ) h/ V" J# ?, \8 `( L4 X
with the Students' Union.

4) Willingness and ability to work varying hours.- z9 a7 Z5 ?0 t% U
