The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
% p9 p/ z) m  B% w) |0 Svolunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
  A8 j$ A7 J9 A1 R4 Corganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

# ^! B. L5 A, \3 QPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
4 Q* D! F8 M/ a+ Iand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
0 {0 m8 n: s, J' h# _policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
4 p' O% d7 }7 P" R# v3 F% Laffairs at all times.

7 h# _+ x2 \* D4 V- t: WPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
/ L( L+ y" f/ c% x8 m0 p. Rarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
( o4 m" N3 d2 i6 zfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
7 O5 l: E4 D4 b! _/ s7 tas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
- s) B2 V7 h4 jservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
4 Y; U- z! k7 vthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

- X* x" h; W% y( d; S& SIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
- J0 Y6 r. S! e2 h2 `7 u& K# R- Tdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
3 v0 D" c2 h5 |  K2 v9 }. q! m% Zthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

% W# v$ X  j1 Sprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
