through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
  N: H: I# S- ?* v. WOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
) v$ q# T4 L% ^& r4 L8 B- I0 F1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.
! W0 o2 D( Z# O; _1 M! j2 ?
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.
  A# e3 r: m1 ?" {1 ?- O
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

' I1 [9 x5 M: w5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
* D$ v0 W- W' Y0 k7 rstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

+ p$ i- M8 ~- B: f6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
- u9 H& J, a6 ~! Q! waccordance with Students' Union policies.

$ N6 U5 E7 x1 s( }7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
+ O( i) H$ Z/ d4 R: T7 E6 C To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
" M: g: V: H) P8 x. w! gAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

/ P" s# t+ i- ]: v9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.

/ C  ~1 Y( K  o3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
& Y# M; h7 Z4 F3 C. P, baccordance with Students' Union policy.

" p9 l. o( G# }/ _) ?4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
+ y1 j: i3 W$ V! R9 aUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
; d. v3 a; r0 m. ?attitude.

. E* ?% V, \7 M/ fWage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
