JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  5 u: @" B& K/ i/ @/ h7 y, V8 |
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
4 Z* k0 d8 v+ I2 eprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
+ h& h  k! n$ t! [8 ncleanliness and order in the bar.6 |& `- D+ |* X: ?% S* y9 r7 K

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:8 @6 l) |; O6 |8 i
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
5 ]: T8 f  I7 H0 Qbeverage items.1 g3 ]% }2 P1 T  B- ~

9 I( F2 s% @/ n! n+ N9 F2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
% A7 f: r# C0 n) \: |: f3 l& C/ wbar and debit floats.+ \- A! F# m5 S+ u8 |

( T1 d0 M+ a8 a$ n3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
/ H8 P. |( o9 `3 }+ i! k. X  xeach shift, and upon closing.# r% A5 L& B+ c/ {

7 W. t- T% a/ f/ Z3 x) ~* F4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
  Q2 n, c! k" v. B7 P7 F" hattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
2 g4 r( x3 H7 Y- rseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  7 U. X6 h  t4 N
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  / H% H4 v2 o1 Q- C6 ]
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift., l& V  U1 M9 |# U. ]

' K! x$ z! W7 u6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
  b8 e+ k3 u6 }0 w; {& xmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  5 ^3 X* a- A+ c( e6 G6 v9 G
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
) P4 t( D  n1 E3 t  l* Q4 Iaccordance with Students' Union policies.* E4 V, O  D1 _, y3 g
  o8 a9 B3 g% D: g1 h& n/ b& M# A$ n& M6 I
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
$ w4 Y. |( U9 l- w8 H2 T# vhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
, Q9 w  C+ c4 o& S9 @ To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
8 C: O% `$ z4 XAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
( T/ B* w3 j1 G* i  l: HSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

! B" P" S! s7 C0 p) y1 V1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

9 @0 I9 L: u+ x8 e2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  ! V1 }0 l" u! f2 y+ K
operation.
. V) I- D5 q! P6 @% w
8 s4 a& h6 |8 L2 O( ^* {" Z' i3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
$ I% M4 o! q) |2 k" q7 o3 Taccordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.! ?2 c; F; L+ K, J
9 r  g4 u/ i: c9 Z4 `
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
0 e6 k+ h) N2 s2 T6 u( j4 r' \2 b' h' _Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
4 t+ k7 F3 U0 h& T' battitude.6 n8 R7 m. s5 ]; |0 o
