22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
. a. g) ]8 q' VOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
* M, ~# o$ B4 r; Z0 p( M, f. nprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
/ z' U, R) d3 m) icleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.

# e% i& b; }: P, C: C# V5 U2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
; `5 y  s$ f9 H! A% Ebar and debit floats.

6 k& z' F$ C' e# {3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

  T0 ~8 N" R7 p! F- E4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

8 Q7 S! D3 [# N5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
- C, }" y4 X( a, i' {storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

3 R: d, ~# w8 j9 |9 g6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
0 w7 b) F' O/ c- ~+ T1 i1 T( D) xaccordance with Students' Union policies.

: _( s6 ?$ t: t" ]; R) d3 e7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
4 D/ Z0 [; ]$ t7 ~; B: b! lhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.

) Y+ }, b- Z4 C4 a& _6 UAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

/ J# z" v, I4 Q9 I$ ]8 I% g* v0 p2 I1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
" p4 s0 \9 }" X5 s; l+ M
" a3 p) P) W$ m  p3 J2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.

- u* ~5 W$ S2 W7 h8 D. p0 Y7 p3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
3 ~1 M. `% {, taccordance with Students' Union policy.

8 k: I( a0 _2 [9 Y3 \4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

* `5 H4 P' U- F2 e) u: Y; N6 }% KUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
