JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
5 f6 a, _# H" Q; SBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
+ |/ x" P( ]4 k# i7 S% F" a4 N+ Rcustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
$ Z' e0 o/ I0 M* k, o% m1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

- I% ?8 s/ U& j9 o$ r) L% X3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

  K3 R( ]! d0 E2 X$ ~# `4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
: p' Z/ b" S3 f. a; P& ~including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5 {2 q* b8 V% N# m& B- c8 [% o5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
3 w& X$ W& h" W4 V) @2 baction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
: L3 ^* d1 \4 S" l6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
3 B; \" a: B& X- Z2 J3 }) N' GAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
2 t; v& B* C. uManager.

4 H% T  o5 q( ~QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
4 R/ i5 S! L* z" X! Z
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
# m, w& ]$ U9 H& O& s& T  X6 e" hoperation.
1 d( p# }, p& k0 E
/ s. N5 r3 _# u7 p! t3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
) d4 K/ a6 w) C6 A  Q2 a6 P* qpolicy.

3 Q- {# v9 u2 F* f" b8 R0 a' u4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

% C2 b9 H* h. {# g  ~5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
* X: z$ x8 I' {- }  H) O( M7 ~professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
