Thursdays

8 {9 q, [3 Q) f& W9 fJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
" \! m8 d; @' o& B4 ^6 a8 Ncustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
* i6 J$ u) N% X$ z4 Corders.

8 m8 s. k4 g( o* [$ \% C8 ^2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
5 }6 L0 c3 x* W& S4 s# _) ?high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
7 f" V. Y6 z7 Y% Z3 X3 Kaccordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
* F9 J) c1 _- [% Ftotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
! N2 S- l# f: p& C* D& Q
" g7 _5 \6 Z- f3 t' n) A4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
- U' d  V$ t% [! y: tincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
& B7 f% e* _  u2 H- o/ d5 Qand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

, v9 H$ T$ {5 e( F$ F5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
8 h1 w& q* G7 maction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
6 Y0 f( ]- |; S& b2 U1 D. _1 m3 Cintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
5 c- t. D# ^. s! JAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
( ]! P' v0 w# m) E- hManager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
- M0 F$ k2 Y2 b% h# n9 b4 r
; N- P4 a5 B/ l4 |9 b0 Z2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
9 x5 W% u" ^+ Q
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
9 j" h$ k8 ]5 h7 Q4 f* rpolicy.
0 V$ G, @. w. J0 G1 Q. f
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

+ d. J1 Z+ a) X2 p7 M5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
; k% `5 F3 ]) z/ ]& b; pprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
