SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

  O& v( z) z7 @  v' |7 G% x1 kJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

. c! J+ ?3 Z% g* gDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
2 f$ v# k# l. s' h1 V
# W  B- m$ X9 L  Z( p9 H2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

$ P* [4 f8 `! ~, k3 j  ^4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
3 {) d; E+ ~: y+ C3 xincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
0 W. g* p' Q0 ~6 H4 gand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

) v& t4 R8 O9 S# ?, {5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
1 F: J, L5 z: f  \# C& Haction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
- p: V# {( X& X  r/ xintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
# b& C" r1 k9 m# O1 W7 Z" Y6 z6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
; u0 i5 Z3 X) C9 E4 B1 NAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

; L# v+ v3 L4 A% y9 w' l9 C7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations

& c, H2 m3 T& [9 }* N% qQUALIFICATIONS;
' H' f; g; }( W: d1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
8 f, E/ }& G* R( ~$ b$ @
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.
6 E. H: j+ Z+ l& X8 B3 t4 ~8 S" w
  d1 D& x; Z. R% N0 i& B( l7 \  e4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5 k, o- ^9 \) E! t6 q$ [5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
% C: d# A/ p$ X: v4 \professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
