The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job
No. 9246.

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
9 l5 j3 K( L' t; ipay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

0 _" @* P1 D' p0 o8 C0 R( K$ pDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
' v4 w) R: g8 k& L  ~8 s$ Pvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
* M, _  v3 m/ A0 l/ n. Z1 {etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
6 ?7 S& l% n) ~- d' l3 A' ~participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
4 ~' x- O' X- y) B; r8 l6 g: ^their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
7 b8 W. ~: [; l: ]assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
+ k- o( E( a/ o4 Soutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
9 o$ i) i" \/ q( B3 W2 M( W' q- I, @excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
  r; \0 V! ^5 }such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

# }! n4 G* L# O' c1 n, _Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
6 X1 _1 S+ f( x5 A% L! eCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
; P( f9 ^2 d! F5 P: Fdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
