Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30" m2 q, M+ W% Y! w" }. H/ _* X$ p2 b: d
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
" B h6 p0 \8 g+ i+ Fthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the

$ Y2 d" a+ U& v6 mDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
8 ]1 C$ b1 b$ NCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
* q9 {8 N6 Q0 Avenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,( _& U8 R; Z9 g+ J, [+ A
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
9 m0 {4 w% `& Yparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and G T% F7 c+ \" p
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
" D$ Q( K) n% L, gtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,' n& h4 k* Z# W6 S* T
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking9 z6 n" a8 [$ i: H8 c" B6 K3 g
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city' j l) C+ P: N) t5 R9 l' S4 R( O
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
8 l( a: o: M3 Rexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
) L" [% h! d& n2 ?" h" g( a8 u: _; Nexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or: L% P1 [5 X+ A2 `0 e
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents- F9 B, ]! y# W- }. m
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
+ K' Y, o1 k( j- X3 _presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in. u3 x% L, x2 L2 |
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
2 G4 H- E6 U4 z( L% dfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
/ G j( t+ h6 d8 B1 H' t5 ~demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
9 f% x @) G. ?3 i5 ]& S1 Ma variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those8 \* b2 @/ z8 @. I$ e* H Z
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
5 h+ u% k1 u W; U; d* O; Iskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word, |. o& R. _" @
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,% a" N) }4 ~+ a! P
experience coordinating group activities an asset. ' B. m* r$ r; \& {+ b& [
