The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.

4 ?$ T; F. ~% ]( x' kSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
. @$ m1 i8 o- c( etechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
$ V# ~! [: s5 T- N7 ]7 N0 R9 ?% J; `include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
! [5 {* y4 O9 f, W7 W& N+ j% X! u' jChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
0 f) a- I# T& v- zseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
: p8 c' _8 W! k" E8 dof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
# a) {) P2 t  Q# s$ D6 }! xand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
