The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
7 G5 Y/ \. [  M% Y+ Z5 a; }5 Ytechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
2 P& z+ v0 g1 R& d- M, hinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
* _0 d, S5 R( r, V* }* Qanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
$ U1 x" p$ a% T1 n" useparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
